I was told today by CPW that a Software Upgrade on my 55 week old T68 would cost me £30. Isn't this meant to be free?
Does anyone know how i can get this done for free if not.
I've just finished my 12month contract and have a P800 on Orange, so want to sell the T68, but will shift it easier if it were a T68i.

Thanks!

I had the same problem with my t39m - after I contacted ericsson they gave me the phone numbers for my local ericsson service centre. One place wanted £25 for the upgrade, but the place I eventually went to charged me £5:87. Don't know what he would charge for a t68 but he REALLY knows his stuff when it comes to ericssons. I suppose the answer is to shop around, but if you want the guys number post your email and I'll forward it to you. Only trouble is he's based in Sale nr Manchester! (Don't know if this has helped but it's got to be worth a try)

CPW or an official SE servicepoint should send it off for free for a couple of weeks.

I don't know about it in your country. I'll tell you about Russia:
- It is not free
- It is FREE if your old software doesn't work normal
- it costs about 16$
Two days ago I did it with by Ericsson T68m ( R2B013 ) , now it is R7A013

Cheers!

I'll shop around, and if no change i'll just send it to SE!!

If i say its faulty i don't think it will still be covered by the SE
warranty.

Best say it has a button fault or similar, then say can they do the upgrade while they are at it.

a Software Upgrade on a 55 week old T68m should be for free, since everyone who bought the "m" version has a right to get it upgraded to an "i".

I was told that my phone would be (and was) upgraded free because it was still under guarantee and I had evidence to prove this (original receipt).

AFAIK it is only free if you get it done within the 12 month warranty period. Obviously a 55 week phone is outside that period and hence won't be free.
