I'm mystified,
I've got the old 233 imac running 8.6 with the infrared port.
I place my t300(and earlier my t68i) to the infrared port on my imac and it recognises it! The imac port actually recogonises my fone by stating"t300".
But as soon as I try to send info either way nothing happens. The t300 says "no device found" and the imac doesn't want to know, but it still sees it there.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Also, I'm not gonna upgrade to 10 to get the thing working coz I'm just not (and I'm not going to buy a common as muck PC),too costly just to get the two of them speaking, I'm just baffled why my imac can see my fone and I can't do anything else!!!
Any info on this would be very muchly appreciated!

It's weird that it sees it but won't move the file. Are you sure the tools you are using will allow files to transfer? Even thought you can see the phone, it does not mean that the software will do the transfer. Maybe try and look for some IR sites, or forums. They might know what's wrong.

My recommendation...upgrade to Mac OS X (I put it on my Mom's iMac 233, so I know it can be done). Set up your AddressBook, buy the DWB-120 Bluetooth adapter. Download iSync, and start syncing away.

Not the solution you want, but it is the one that will work.

Good luck with the IR!

What app are you trying to use to transfer files? You need to use an app that is compatible with the phone. I don't know of any for OS 9, though.
When you put any Ir device in range of the iMac's Ir port, it'll always connect and show the name of the device. You then need a compatible application to actually do anything, though.
