sup yall, thought i'd share my joy on just purchasing my very own P800! FINALLY, AFTER MONTHS OF seeing everyone else on this forum get one! £280 with Vodaphone on £33 contract for three months. i was playing around with the phone last night and much today, and have found the camera to be really shite! tried changing the settings, but still nothing. am really disappointed as the 7650 is hella better!
does anyone know if this is the latest software?
PHONE: R1D
BLUETOOTH: R2C
ORGANISER: R1G05
CDA: R2A04
also, i charged the phone last night until the green light disappeared...however it took only around 2hours to do so and now the battery is already on 50%. i've only been browsing the applications and have yet to connect it to my pc and try some of the games on the CD rom. ideas anyone?!? |

Thats the lastest software at the moment. Give the battery time to break in and it will get better. I just got mine too so I know how you feel. I took some pictures of a naked chick earlier and they didn't come out great so I know how you feel on the camera. I believe the next firmware is suppose to improve the camera so just hang in there. |

Yep.....you got the latest software....the P800 camera likes lots of natural light but I agree it needs the software upgrade to make is more usable. Oh....and welcome to the P800 club!! have fun

I just got my P800 two days ago, and I love it to bits!
I too was initially disappointed with the quality of the camera having owned a 7650 and an SPV before, both of which take really good quality snaps, but I discovered that when you MMS the pics to the SPV (which has 65,000 colour screen), they dont actually look that bad, so maybe its just the 4096 colour screen of the p800 which makes it look bad. |

hmmm, that's an interesting point! yeah it sucks that the p800 only has 4,096 colours while the SPV has 65k!
have you guys experienced any crashes on your phones yet?! cause i have with the camera...where it only displayed the SE logo and therefore i had to reboot. |

Didn't have any cameria crashes, but the phone was just sitting there (without me even looking at it for about 20 minutes) and next thing I knew, I had the white screen of death!
Also, big tip, I found out it is a big no, no to have a page loading with GPRS on the built-in browser and trying to change the bluetooth settings at the same time. Phone totally freezes up!

heh heh, hang in there Bitru!...i too had to indulge in the long wait while everybody else paraded their P800's!
in the end however, the long wait is not exactly rewarded you actually get the phone. i think i enjoyed the build up and the thought of actually owning the phone in my head rather than actually having in my hands. just a thought....we always want what we cant have, and then when we have it...eh! |

Just got mine through today - very excited! To be fair - I'm a little intimidated by it! How on earth am I gonna keep that screen scratch free and shiny new?
Now - what is the best way to get all my contacts from my ol' T68 onto my brand spanking new P800. I'm all bluetoothed up with a TDK dongle and the P800 USB cradle seems to be working fine... any ideas? Can I borrow a mates' SIM and send all contacts via IR/BT at once from one phone to another? |

you can borrow a sim and do that way if you want
1. Turn on Bluetooth and pair your phones
2. On your T68, first menu, Business Cards, Send All Contacts, via Bluetooth
3. On your P800 accept the incoming data
The only thing is that Mobile numbers from the T68 become labelled as "Home Mobile (h)" on the P800.
