I tried opening hotmail with my p800 using opera (with gprs conn.) but it only goes till the login screen....instead of the mailbox screen opening up theres a lot of html (or some such) code and then, nothing.
Meanwhile with the p800's built in browser, it says this site cannot be opened! is it possible to get to hotmail using p800 or am i wasting my time......?
Also, how do i check the versions of my software/firmware? and what are the latest versions guys?, (so i can compare)
Thanks ppl

I tried several times, but I've found no way around Passport (which is what's causing the problems with the Opera).

I'm pretty sure it's intentional as no other sites had such problems when I tried connecting to them.

Not sure if it still works but www.wapmx.com had a wap service to check your POP3 and hotmail email accounts.
Use the pop3 (via wap) side of it and it works reasonably well on my T68.

You can access hotmail via www.hotmail.com using Opera however this is the full webpage version and in substainially larger in size (bytes) than the pocket pc version of MSN, however this is the ONLY one that I found that works.

a while back for a client i created a hotmail -> pop3 server program for my work place, i dont work their no more though, it enabled palmos users to easily access their hotmail mail as they would on a standard email client.

I still have the source for this, but i want to update it a bit....

It would mean you would need an always on internet connection and PC turned on all the time, if you have this though this is a good solution and also supports filtering and multply accounts...

no offense, but using someone else's server appears to be too dangerous.

Once he has your username and password, he can get to your mailbox anytime he likes and do with it what he likes...

I couldn't get Opera to work with www.hotmail.com nor with mobile.msn.com - the latter just hangs Opera on my phone...

i can get to the hotmail site and check my emails but only with the built in browser
and even then it hangs for ages (about 7 mins) whiles login in which is anoying!!
i much perfer the pop3 i only got a hotmail because POP3 couldnt be used on comps at work without filling out all the info on ip server port and loads of crap like that, thats why i got hotmail. But now i can use POP3 on P800, so i dont use hotmail much...

I have no problem accessing hotmail with opera.. especially if you set the cookie that means you don't have to go via the login screen every time... and switch off image loading!

Works fine over GSM 9,600Kpbs !!
