Just received my download link for upgraded Handy Day to v2.
Looks like main improvements:
Better use of jog dial
Various bug fixes
New toolbar
Zoom
Colour Schemes
Memory indicator
Lock phone in flip removed mode
Can't wait to try it out as I find Handy Day to be a great bit of software

I'm running V2 demo and it is certainly a nice improvement!
If I was going to keep the P800 I would probably buy this now.

A bit costly, but for convinient usage it's a must have, and v2 has made it even better than before. |

I think it's worth the money. I use the phone with the flip of then Handy Day give you a nice overview.
One thing I missed in previous version was the ability to lock the phone this is implemented in 2.0.
The releasenotes says "Checking of new mail for IMAP mail accounts" but I canīt find this function anywhere?

Oh no... They copied the bug from the Orange SPV... The light turns on when you touch the phone, even though it is locked. This renders the Lock function totally useless, as it will drain the battery in no time... Well, better luck next time...
Wouldn't it be nice to be able to insert some kind of backdrop on the Handy Days screen too? The pure white color is a bit boring... |

word. I am still glad I bought this a long timeago but everything that you say is true. i use the keypad flip anyway, but i hate how i have to keep opening handyday throughout the day it keeps on timing out and making me open it again.
This is a pain when u are used to it coming up everytime you open your flip.
Could you imagine if there was a weather screen that u could access with this prog. it would be killer! Worldmate is aite, but it does not support my city and i don't care about the time in other parts of the world i just want the weather in a screen i use a lot like handyday

I had tried the trial version (before v2) earlier and I bought version 2 a few minutes ago. Im happy with it - many improvements and it's a great addition to the P800, despite its flaws - every software has its flaws.

You can change the color of Handy Day screen in 2.0.

How do you use Handy day with the flip closed or is it not possible?
Also I notice they have utilised the blue button to activate Handy day why didn't opera do this?!?!
(Just found out the blue button resets to the internet application once you have turned the phone off. bummer!!!)

Peter,
An application has to "override" the basic OS tendency of running the internal browser when you use the blue button.
It can only do it when it's running.
If it's not running, the blue button reverts to its original implementation.
What you need is to have the program running as the phone starts up (apparently a bit difficult to do). |

I purchased this yesterday, it is my 1st time using the app and it seems very good.
It is a shame you cant use it to access the MP3 player settings from it as this would make thing better, although I did see on different thread that this may be included in a software upgrade of the P800 anyway.
one small point my phone battery uncharacteristically died last night, (1st overnight with handy day on) I will see if it continues to affect the battery life.
