Selling my O2 t68 to a Pay-as-you-go Orange user |

As the thread says. I want to sell my t68 to a friend who is on pay-as-you-go Orange.
I tried the SIM out to see if it worked, and I got a very strange response.
The phone booted fine, displaying Orange as the provider.
But the signal kept going from full to empty - up and down constantly.
Also I noticed that around the signal was a blue angled line, which I've never seen on my O2 connection.
Trying to dial any numbers from the phone failed - this looked like the signal problem, as it wouldn't stay up long enough to connect.
Can anyone help, do you need the phone setting up to use Orange? I thought that 02 supplied thier phones unlocked. |

Its just how the phone reacts when you change over the sims.
I have the same thing happen to mine for a few mins when I swap from T-mobile to Voda, its not a real problem if you are having problems try an update of FW!

Hi again.
Sadly there has been no luck with getting the Orange sim to work.
The network search does find Orange for a short while, but everytime a phone call is atempted the signal drops to zero.
I found this thread from last year giving similar issues.

My phone is also a R1B version.
The Orange sim is pay as you go (approx 2 years old)
Could it be the GSM band problem?
Does anyone use a t68 R1B with Orange?
Has anyone got any other ideas of how to get this to work? |

Go to a local phone shop and ask them to unlock it - this just means makin it available to all networks it costs around £10. don't go to a big named shop cos it will cost a lot around £20-50
