Importing and sending digital photos |

Hi,
Please can anyone help?
We have a Sony Ericsson T-300, and have the digital camera attachment on the Orange network. We'd like to send the digital photos to our PC and have tried several methods, all of which have failed.
a. Sending the photos by email. Every time I try and send by email from the phone, it says "GPRS parameters not supported", even though we have done everything asked of us in the handbook.
b. Setting up the MA-8910C USB data cable and software. It imports ordinary text files, as well as the address book etc, but I can't find a way of getting it to import photos. The 'Help' is singularly unhelpful.
We are Pay As You Go, but that really shouldn't make any difference.

You can't send photos to a PC using a Data Cable, you need either Infra-Red or Bluetooth. |

If the incorrect gprs parameters message is being displayed, you are usin the incorrect settings.
http://www.sonyericsson.com will have your settings on the wap configurator, just fill in your details and the setings will be sent to you.
As for sending pictures TO the pc, maddav is correct, bluetooth or Irda are the only working methods, but as the T300 doesnt have bluetooth connectivity, you would have to settle for irda.
I recommend a USB infra red adapter, as they are relatively cheap and easy to install :-)

TRY USING THESE SETTINGS IF U HAVE A YAHOO EMAIL ACCOUNT AND USE GSM RATHER THAN GPRS.
settings for yahoo pop3 are
protocol - pop3
incoming server - 216.136.173.10
incoming port - 110
mailbox - username
password - your password
outgoing server - 216.136.173.12
outgoing port - 25
email address - your email address
you have to enable 'yahoo delivers' via your yahoo account on the web though (its free dont worry)

Do you know where I can get a USB infra red adapter from (Peferabally off the internet)? Would it come with the software I need to get pictures TO the pc?

lamehead, I have posted links to this several times in the last 2 weeks since I got one when people asked this question so a quick search might have got you the answer. Anyway I recommend this seller as they deliver quickly and the product works great for the price.
Also... the other question has been aked no end of times. No extra software is required to get pictures from the phone to the PC using IR. You just choose the picture on your phone and choose send and then via infrared.

This is because you have not configured yourr email DATA ACCOUNT correctly.
You have an active 'wap' GPRS a/c no doubt, but you need your service provider to activate 'data' GPRS account.
You then need a new (but identical) data a/c for the 'data' GPRS a/c as you have for the 'wap' GPRS a/c, but with the APN set to 'internet', and the password/username both set to 'web'.
You can then email - and email your photos.
This *will* work!
