Can you use the 13 second tecnique and keep the themes, pictures, ringtones and games... |

To any and all:
I have a T300 that is originally from T-Mobile (it's been unlocked so I can use any simcard with it). I've tried the "realease the battery after 12 or 13 seconds within the master reset" technique to find that it realistically only frees up about 40k after you install everything you once had customized, but it also makes the original rings, pictures, themes and games unavailable (at least this is how it worked for me). Now I like the fact that there's no more T-Mobile shutdown show and that the icon on the desk top in no longer a rediculous, customized T-Mobile "@" symbol and the T-Zones are gone, but if it won't free up the memory for the other stuff then there's really no point in not using it (you're loosing more than you're gaining).
My question is: Is there a way to get rid of the provider customized Shutdown Shows and the icon on the desktop and still retain all of the origina pictures, themes, and games that came with the phone?
I hope this isn't too confusing. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks to all. |

Aside from flashing the firmware to a non-customized firmware, I don't see any way to do it. If you do a full master reset again, everything will come right back again using the method you described |

Yeah. I've done that. Still have some annoying T-Mobile quips, but it's nothing that I can't live with (if I try hard enough . Do you happen to know where or how to get your phone flashed with different software? |

The self flashing technique for the T300 is still very buggy. In fact, it really doesn't work Until that part of the self flashing client gets fixed, or someone writes a new client, there's really nothing you can do about your firmware.

Mmmeh. I think we'd all be a bit better off if we could learn to just live with some things. I think I'll do just that. Thanks for the info though. |

Have you tried this... (I tired this yesterday) do the master reset for about 20-25 sec then pull off the battery... Virtually everything will be loaded like regular but the start screens. Then turn on yout infrared and fill up the memory then delete all the pisc and ringtone's you don't want. It should work... It's a blend of the 13 second trick and the master reset fill memory trick. I'm using R1B. |

@Dragoneye,
So is it approx. 23 seconds before pulling off the battery? So this won't get rid of any of the pre-loaded pictures or ringtones or ANYTHING except the start screens? 'Cause if so, that's great. What about the shut down screen? And if you're using T-Mobile, is that icon on the desktop that says T-Mobile back to original SE format?
Sorry for all the questions, but I appreciate your answers. Also, this may sound niave, but I'm realatively new to this whole game, what is "R1B"?
One more thing: What do you mean about turning on the infared and filling up the memory?
