i heard my friend said that, for Data Cable, it allow us to download pictures and ringtones into the phone, but no big files such as software updates. For larger changes such as software install, a Flash Cable is to be used, but it's much expensive and it can't manage the ringtone and picture downloads. I wanna know that which one should be the best? should i buy a:
Data Cable
Flash Cable
IR
hope my information is wrong cuz i don't wanna buy 2 of those components together cuz they cost a lot!
BTW i don't know where to buy IR and what brand name is good, so i hope if someone can kindly answer my stupid questions please, thx~ |

OK... Just one thing... You can't flash your phone! This is an operation that an Ericsson Service Center have to do. Have not heard of any "flash-cable". If you are going to transfer pics and ringtones, the cheapest solution is datacable.
I'm using Bluetooth PC-card and IR on my laptop to download backgroundpics, ringtones and surf the net (GPRS using Bluetooth).
Here is the ranking from the cheapest solution to the most expensive (but most convinient solution):
1. Datacable
2. IR
3. Bluetooth USB-adaptor
4. Bluetooth PC-card
You can find all these accessories on www.expansys.com

Yes, you got it =)
The update of the phone doesn't take long, 10-15 minutes and it's done!

The phone might be damaged within the software upgrade. Its possile to damage components in the phone during the upgrade. That can be one of the main reason for the large amount of phones being replaced.
kicks ass with SW upgrades |

yes i heard my friend said that upgrading the software is a very big risk, cuz it might make ur phone crash or unstartable. anyways is there a way that i can find where a service point is near my home? i live in Canada |

But if its crashes you dont have to pay for a new one, if you has guarantee left and maybe a receipt from buying it.
I just want to be clear that i meant if it crashes during SW upgrade at an Ericsson Service Point. Not if you trying to do i by yourself!!!
Kick ass

Can only recommend that you do not try to flash the phone by your self. That is not a good idea I think... Just leave your phone to a Service Center!
