Sorry, didn't go to cebit. But I was just at the ITshow 2003 Singapore. The Sony booth brought in the T610.
The original feel of the T610 was as expected, better in real life than on picture. The feel is really magnificient. Size is very good as well. Small and compact.
There were finger prints and greasy marks all over the phone due to handlings by the crowd. The colour screen was the best I've seen in all SE phones. The camera works like a charm. Bright vivid colours. I did not play with it for too long due to the queue waiting to try it. I did try the mophun game DeepAbyss. Boy! It was really slow for it to load. Finishing level one and proceeding to level 2 took ages!
Must say I was only half impressed with the phone. Maybe the P800 was just next to it. I am more impressed with the latter.
The price expected when the T610 launched here will be about S$800 with 2 years contract. By then, the P800 in the second hand market will fall below the S$1k mark. It is, to me, more worthwhile to get the P800.
The P800 I tried was without the flip keypad. I have a good feeling about it than when I saw it last with the keypad. After seeing both of them, I have made the decision to go for the P800 rather than wait for the T610. |
