T68i - Suddenly no-one hears me |

Hi.
I have searched the board in vain for solutions to my problem, so please excuse me if the question has been asked before.
Sometimes, quite often actually, when I talk in my T68i the one I talk to suddenly can't hear me at all. I can hear he/she loud and clear, but two-way communication isn't possible. It always ends with the other part hanging up (of course). I call them back, and if I'm lucky the problems gone. Or the phone starts "bitchin'" again after a while...
The call sometimes works fine for 5 minutes before the problem arrives, sometimes 15 seconds. It seems to have nothing to do with signal strength or battery time left.
What could be the problem?
Hardware? (Version R7A, I think.)
Software? (Version R2F004)
BTW:
I purchased it only about a month ago and it hasn't been exposed to any moisture, heat, shocks or whatever...
Any help or comments are appreciated!
Thanks.

It could be a network problem and not a phone problem. Have you observed if this happen in a certain location?

It has happened in different locations, and not only in places with bad reception.
I have asked some friends with the same service provider (Comviq, Stockholm, Sweden) if they've had similar problems, but I seem to be the only one. |

That sounds very much like the problem I had. It actually has to do with signal strength. The circuit that amplifies the signal on your T68 is broken. This means that it sometimes will amplify the signal too little, with a result that your peer cannot hear you. The phone still believes that is has good contact --- the signal strengh indicator shows maximum strength.
Other "symtoms":
You sometimes have to call twice to get connected, sometimes SMS sending fails and you have to try again. GPRS problems is another symtom.
The circuit is called N400 and it breaks easily. I had to replace mine. My boss got a new phone twice because of this. There seems to be most problems on T68m models. |

That is an exact desciption of how my phone behaves!
Darn...I hoped a software upgrade could fix it.
Anyway, thanks for your help!
I'll go back to the store as soon as possible. |

I have had this problem on one T68 and on one T39. When I was sending in the T39, they send me a T68 back !

This really seems to be a common problem...
I thought changing from Nokia to Sony Ericsson would spare me from quality problems. Guess I was wrong... |

I've had this problem with both my T68 and my T68i. I did upgrade on my T68 and it disappeared. However, I didn't do anything to my T68i and it disappeared after a while anyway. Yes, it was damn frustrating.

Generally i think it is better to have the phone repaired. After i had my phone repaired (N400 replaced) I never had a problem. My boss, who got a \"new\" phone had to wait for his phone forever, and after a few months he got the same problem on his new phone.
