I currently own a t68i but am looking to upgrade my phone. I was originally thing of getting the P800, but after hearing and drooling over the T610 I am stuck on what to do. Here are the pro's and con's I have come up with.
P800 (pros)
Touch Screen!!!
HTML Browser
Memory Stick
Symbian 7 OS
P800 (cons)
Big - really big compaired to the t68i
will not work with Sony Ericsson Clicker (to control my Mac and House)!!

T610 (pros)
Small
65000 color screen
Cnan use SEC for Mac and Home
T610(cons)
Not the P800

So what would you get?

I will choose T610.
The reasons are:

1. I like its design very much.
2. I don't need a PDA
3. I like to use a small and light phone
4. I will not use the most outstanding functions in P800
5. P800 is too expensive for me
6. I afraid the big touch screen is very easy to be crashed for me

Yet, I want a Video Player and more memory in T610...

(It is because with video player, I can download latest TV news video to my phone which is really convenient)

The p800 can do everything a phone can do today and tomorrow.
There's talk about instant messaging and the like on mobile phones.
If this holds true the p800 can do it.... the t610 can't
The only thing you can use the extra colors for is pictures. And since the camera is crappy and the screen is quite a bit smaller I think that viewing images on the p800 will be better than the t610.
I can play doom on my p800!
I can use irc on my p800!
I can store 28megs of stuff on my p800. And it is expandable.
My p800 fits nicely in my pocket.
As they say. It's not the size that matters but how you use it
Until the day 3G is out the p800 can do everything possible on the gsm network... The t610 can't.
However. If you buy your phone to look good. The t610 is for you....

for most people who don't need a pda (at least, not always) the t610 is the more practical choice. it's smaller, and it's screen won't crack if you push the buttons too hard (i hope).

there are pros and cons for each, but the fact you're even considering living without some of the p800's higher functions suggests you don't need one, and would have more fun with the t610. i know i will..

I'm not talking about pda functions. I'm talking about fun fuctions. Sure it's a pda too but there's so much fun to be had with the phone. The IRC is a favourite when bored in class. Watching videos, listening to mp3s(once the bigger msduos arrive).

If you are serious about having fun on your phone the p800 is for you.

If you just want a nice looking little phone with a fair amount of features the t610 is for you.

Well I used to have a Sony Clie...but i sold it to get my t68i with plans of upgrading to a P800...

The thing is all pictures of the P800 show it as huge...and I am hearing it has some problems with the speaker..sound ect...

I really like some of the things that the P800 can do...but really like the size of the T610...

Plus I am using a mac and I know the T610 will sync with iSync iCal iPhoto iTunes Address Book...I also just got the SEC(Sony Ericsson Clicker) and an X10 controler...so I curently have my phone and my mac configured so that when i leave my house all my lights turn off...when I come home my lights turn on...my computer wakes up...checks my emails..sends a message back to my phone as for how many new email I have...then will read the emails outloud to me that I select.... CAN I do this with a P800....I know I can with a T610 but I dont know if a P800 with work with SEC.

That is why I am stuck with a decission...

Hehe. that sound cool.
Although it only happens when you enter and leave your house.. Usualy quite brief.. The rest of the time though...
I know! Just keep the t68i in your pocket. It's small so you prolly won't notice it much.
But then.. It could work with the p800.
it too has BT..

The P800 does have bluetooth and will work with Romeo so I can use it to control most of my Mac. But it runs on the Symbian OS so SEC hasen't developed a way to make it work. SEC is the only product that will allow me to program my own scripts with AppleScript.

Unless you know of another...

I am probably going to get a P800 just wanted to get some insite from the penut gallery before I spend $600 on one.

BTW.
You have to press REALLY hard to break the display.
It will probably break if you sit on it though.
