I have decided. I am going to get the P800. Oh god, I am so excited. But before I do, I have a few questions.

I have Cingular and I want to know how hard is it to set everything up for this phone. GPRS, MMS, eMail etc. I'm quite knowledgable, I have a t86i with EVERYTHING working but thats because it's a phone Cingular actually carries.

I tend to break phones and lose a lot.. Losing, dropping, the list goes on. Now since I probably can't get insurance for this phone will I be out $600 if I lose it or break it or is there an outside insurance company that will insure my phone. Or can I still get it thru Cingular even if they don't carry this particular phone.

Where is the best place to buy these phones, internet, shops, etc. I live in southern California and I don't think I'll travel too far for a phone, so internet is my best bet.

Thank you guys for putting up with my horrible questions and I look forward to your replies.

The P800 works well with Cingular. If you were able to setup your T68i, then you shouldnt have a problem setting up the P800.

You cannot purchase phone insurance thru Cingular since its not a phone they carry. Cingular will only cover phones they currently support.

There are a few local shops that carry the P800. Expect to pay a premium when purchasing from a local shop.

Does this mean all hopes of insurance are out the door? Only reason I'm not putting an order for one of these is I'm afraid of breaking it and losing 600-someodd dollars.

Good point. Unfortunately Cingular (lock\lineŽ,LLC) will not cover the P800.

Is there any outside company that insures phones for a price? What did you do with your P800? Just no insurance and hope to god you don't bust it?

Yep, no insurance. If anything were to happen to it, I would either try to get it repaired under warranty by SEMC or just purchase a new one. Hopefully Mineral Grey will be out by then
