You mesn restore your old settings from your PC?
It takes forever to do it!
I thought I was in the same situation as you when I was going to restore my P800 after the upgrade.
I left it in the cradle, and all of a sudden it started doing it, but it took nearly two houres before it had done the full restore.

l know, l couldn't restore either, which l thought was rather stupid! But what actually is the difference if l backup & restore or if l just synchronise all my info back onto the phone (which is what l did afterwards...)?

Well, if it is the same as Pocket PC's then when the firmware is upgraded it is advisable not to do a full restore as this overwrites updated software. Not sure with the P800 though. I guess when the next firmware update comes out then maybe SE will tell us the process.

I also think it's better ro reinstall all your apps again and sync your outlook data after a firmware upgrade. It probably will be a mess in the systemfiles if you restore an old backup, although with r380 this worked great.

But for example, the next firmware release should have Opera as the default browser installed, and most of p800 users have installed this browser by themselves. What happens if you restore and old backup after the firmware-upgrade? I don't think the software is clever enough and you will end up with two opera's.
