i got my P800 upgraded
Phone R1D
BlueTooth R2C
Organizer R1G05
CDA R2A04

a file, C:\SlopFile.ini, keeps appearing on the P800...
i've deleted this file but it just keeps coming back...
i would have ignored it, but it's size is 256kb...
it takes way too much space and the content is a repeating set of characters: '1234567890abcdef'

does anyone know what this file is for, and what's it doing in my P800 after the upgrade?

it's more likely that one of the applications you have is doing that.

Have you checked what's running?

I don't think I've seen this file on my phone (it's downstairs, but I'll check later on).

What benefits does the R1G organizer release offer?

@ Javy

I have the exact same prob on my p800, have you installed handy day or world mate on yours? I don't know if those could be it, but either that or then it was the upgrade that did the .ini appear.

I haven't noticed any changes in R1G organiser.

i had the same problem i think its one of the programes make them for saveing infomation when u use a function i did a restore and its gone (i backet up all pictures and needed stuff to pc first) and that got rid of the problem i didnt place all of the stuff back on the p800 after though so i think it may of been one of the old programes i didnt transfer back on after reboot

well dude.. ini files r usually important.. they r used for a simpler kind of database that r called "flat files" I dont suggest u delete it.. and if it keeps comin back, that means the system needs it..
u cant beat the system.. give in

try takeing off all the stuff u uploaded to it from pc and see if the file is still there

if it is still there delete it and then see if it gets made again and if not place your stuff back on one by one and checking if the file is there each time and u will find out which programe is makeing it unless its a p800 software problem which i doubt since i got mine to stop comeing up.

the only apps i have on my p800 are opera and goboy...
slopfile.ini appeared after my upgrade...
i tried deleting the file but it just appears again after a reboot...
judging from the content, i doubt the importance of this file, it's got a repeating sequence of characters: '1234567890abcdef'
i havn't seen an initiation file with such a structure before, nor could i think of an application that would use such information in an ini file...
it's really annoying not to know what this file is actually for, since it does not seem to be relevant to anything in the system...
i could use the 256kb for other data...

if anybody else has this issue, could u please post here ur firmware version and where u got ur p800 upgrade...

tnx...

try removing ALL the applications and deleting the file, then see what happens.

sounds like it's common to all R1G users...

Strange, as it's a big file and takes away memory for no apparent reason.

It can be erased, but when turning the phone off and on again the .ini appears.
