Only problem being it looks like a 10 year old model (apart from the screen). Or perhaps it's just me that appreciates the aesthetics of phones

I know it's old news, but this is quite a more detailed explaination of that phone.

And yes, aesthetics (size) are getting thrown a bit back in time, mainly because of the physical limitations of screen size, features, etc..

Strangely enough, I have going to Japan for many years, and they ALWAYS had smaller phones than us by 2 years. In the last year, since I've been there, the phones have GROWN again, to accomodate video, iMode color screens, and built in cameras (on all J-Phones). Albeit the Japanese phones are still VERY light, they have grown in size to accomodate all the new features. Expect that in the Western world as well.

JEFF > You're quite right about the "size-thing".
I believe that phones here in europe will grow too in size,..or at least the specialized models will,..e.g. 7650, which is a very good example.

The mix of pda,phone,camera,mp3 and so on, will make the phones bigger, I think.
And I'm quite sure, that we will see more of these mixed (specialized)phones.
I believe the market for these kind of phones will grow, as the technology and features (camera, java, colorscreens, mms and so on) gets better and better.

Japan had a Pen sized phone years ago but they were not popular as people kept losing them.

the sizes are already varied, they will not all go up in size or all go down, you will have different sizes for individual requirements.

e.g. there's the 8310/T68 sized phone which can be paired with a PDA for multifunction use or used on its own as a small discreet moble that fits in your pocket or purse.

alternatively, you can get the all in one Communicators that both Ericsson & Nokia do that have it all in 1 box but may be bigger than some people are prepared to carry all the time.

it's down to lifestyle, the varied sizes already exist they're not coming.
