My version of windows XP is not a legal copy. Just spent £130 on bluetooth kb and mouse and it has detected that its not a real copy and will not install the software needed. Anyone know of any patches to sort this? I dont really wanna buy a copy of xp

uhm... you shouldn't be using pirated software to begin with.
but that aside... well... welcome to the world of Micro$$$$$$oft.
My only advice is to either get an original copy of XP...
or... return your BT mouse/keyboard, and wait for someone else to develop a BT mouse/keyboard. |

if you are not using a legal copy of xp, then i assume that ure serial number is fake too...... try searching the internet for a program that will generate a new xp serial number and update ure registry.
the reason i say this is because in order to install xp sp1 you have to have a legal copy of xp... for those who dont.... there was a keygen circulating around that changed ure serial into one that would allow the install of sp1. hense bypassing M$ security check..
this method might.. and i stress... MIGHT.... sort out ure problem...
bit of a longshot but worth a try... |

Ok, I have pirated copy, but big deal. I have the solution for you, I installed the SP1 which only could be installed in the 'real' copy, big deal. I will teach you how to change the code and hack into it, no risk involved. follow it step by step and then download SP1 and install it. ^.^
############################
How to change product key in XP with no re-install.:
1. Run regedit and go to:
HKey_Local_MachineSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrent VersionWPAEvents,in the right panel double click on "oobetimer" and change at least one digit of this value. This will deactivate windows. Exit regedit.
2. Choose run from start menu and type in this command:
'%systemroot%system32oobemsoobe.exe /a'
or
'oobe/msoobe /a'
to get the activation screen. Then You want to Activate by phone so Click on Activate by phone. Click Next.
3. In the new screen choose the option to change product key, and type in the new product key (Corporate one only). You cannot use the FCKGW key. Only a new one (one the bottom of this instructions) that you have generated then....no need to click next
Do not click Update.
If you do its ok.. but you didnt need to ... you now should reboot and be done so just close that window, and reboot your system
4. Once rebooted check to make sure that your activated..
5. Enter the command in step 2 again for the second time to verify your activation , you should see "Windows Is Already Activated".

OMG I can't believe you are posting stolen keys here on Esato. For shame! Is it really that bad to buy XP? I mean, you happily shell out $800+ for the P800, yet you won't support the thousands of developers who brought you WinXP?
True it is expensive. Best way to get it cheap is by being a student at college or university. Just before I graduated last year, I bought XP Pro, Office XP Pro and FrontPage 2002 from my universtiy student store for only $22 each!! |

That's cuz you got a student discount dude! XP Home costs $150, XP Pro costs around $400. Office XP around $800 or so, I don't know about FrontPage (never used it...too bloated)
And yes, we'd rather pay $800 for an phone, than $200 for an M$ product. hehehehehe |
