'lo all,
I've got a t68mi with r5d007, that I bought off ebay... My question is will I be able to get the software updated? Or do I need proof of purchase or anything like that? & is there any need to upgrade at the mo anyway?

Cheers

Can might be done without showing any receipts, how old is it?
I never showed anything when upgrading my T68 or P800.

Yours was great thanks, but one in this country (UK) may be more useful!
I don't need an upgrade particularly at the mo (unless anyone knows of any benefits?) & I don't even know where the nearest service centre to me is, so I was just finding out so I knew whether to try and get hold of receipts off the original owner...

Hey Ziggy,

I just got mine upgraded to R6A012 last week in Carphone Warehouse. You don't need to show anything to book the phone in for the upgrade. I bought mine off someone as well because I got robbed last December by some black wankers on a night bus.

Cheers Vamp! Did carphone warehouse charge you then? Or did you buy your original phone off them? Sorry if these are stupid questions - I've just never had a phone I couldn't flash myself!!

Cheers

@miss uk: older siemens phones (i mean incl. SL45, s45 me45 ) were extremely easy to flash. I have no clue about SW updates and still managed to sucesfully flash few of them ). The only issue would be ur warranty... I'm not sure about that, but flashed once also my friends SL45 to SL45i. Few days later he sent it to service, cause he had some problem with mmc reader and they didn't say a word about loosing warranty. Besides, siemens is oficially offering free home-upgrade soft for flashing me45 so i guess it's allowed. [addsig]
