These settings now work fine for sending & receiving e-mail using Orange (UK) and their GPRS as dialup with ntlworld
You should be able to just substitute ntlworld settings for your bt, freeserve, pipex, demon etc e-mail settings.
Change the settings marked !! at the beginning
Go, control panel, connection, messaging accounts
New
Acc name- !! ntlworld
Your name- !! your name (this will appear in the 'from' of the e-mail)
e-mail address- !! your ntlworld e-mail address
Connection type- !! Pop3
Internet account- Orange GPRS
Inbox
user name- !! your ntlworld e-mail user name (not log in username)
password- !! your ntlworld e-mail password (not log in password)
incoming server address
!! pop.ntlworld.com (nb this maybe pop3 for other isps)
outbox
smtp.orange.net
click done
To write e-mail I use Handy Day which I have as my top left icon
I click on the icon, then new, then e-mail.
Could other users please post their experiences using other isps and their settings below (must keep the sending e-mail address to reply to) ie in this case can now reply to the ntlworld e-mail address (not Orange)
cheers

nb
thanks to everyone who helped with the ntlworld settings especially Nick Young with his key, smtp.orange.net setting |

Many thanks from me too. I couldn't work out how to send messages today and the reason was I'd forgotten to do this...
outbox
smtp.orange.net
Regardless of who your "nromal" ISP is you need to have this setting to send e-mails from your phone |

Ahhhh, thankyou so much! I've been struggling with putting my ISP's smtp server in the box, and thanks to your advice everything is working brilliantly!
