T68 Key Lock Completely Useless |

Hello, I have a T68 with Firmware R2B013. One thing that really annoys me about this phone is the fact that the key lock doesn't actually work. I always find the phone unlocks itself while in my pocket. In fact it's such a problem that I often end up placing calls unintentionally.
I know the issue regarding pressing and holding "No" bug/feature has been discussed many times before, but my question differs slightly. Why is the phone so easily unlocked? When I press "C" on my phone, the prompt for "Turn off keylock?" stays on the screen for almost 10 seconds. My thoughts are that if I'm able to accidentally press "C" while the phone is in my pocket, the chances of me accidentally hitting that big "Yes" button within 10 seconds are high.
Do later firmware versions address this issue? If not, I'm considering going back to Nokia. I can't keep pocket dialing people all the time, it's really annoying. I also find quite often that the phone is off, but I think this is caused by the phone unlocking and then pressing "Off" as opposed to pressing "Off" for ~20 seconds. I never had any of these issues with my Nokia.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? |

Before you do go back to Nokia I suggest you have your SW updated, at the same time ask if the SP will blow the dust out of your phone. I have a feeling that MIGHT help. Btw, I never manged to do a pocket call with my T68i but I had aa coupple with my T68m till they blew the duat out of it.

I never encounter your problem with my t68i using R5C001 SW. I suggest to upgrade your SW. I also recommend to make a dummy contact on your phone book called Accidental Call 1, and Accidental Call 2, and put a mobile number 1 for both dummy contacts. Be sure that these numbers are on the #1 & #2 lists so that when u make an accidental press of joystick it goes to that #s.

My keypad has become unlocked and accidentally called once or twice too. Good idea with the dummy contacts. Thanks. |

Thanks for the replies.
While the dummy entry idea is a good one, I don't like the idea of having to use workarounds for something that is a non issue with other manufacturers. Also I'm not convinced it will prevent the problem altogether. While most of the accidental calls are to the number one contact in my address book, I find that sometimes I end up making pocket calls to people that I've recently called or received calls from. Apparently these calls are being made via the call list.
It looks like my only choice is to upgrade. I have two questions regarding this.
1. Can someone with a T68i running newer firmware tell me how long the "Turn off keylock?" prompt stays on the display after pressing "C"?
2. Is SE North America actually flashing T68i software onto T68Ms now? |

2 seconds sounds more reasonable. Looks like upgrading will solve my problem. There are a couple of other annoying problems that I hope will be fixed as well. I don't believe the T68i has these issues.
1. The phone keypad unlocks after answering a call (even though it was locked before).
2. I can't save numbers from the missed call log. (I still am having trouble accepting that they released a phone without this functionality)
Does anyone know if SE NA will update a T68M with T68i firmware? |
