I have some mp3 files I have downloaded from a web site and I wondered if could convert them so I can send them them to my phone.
1. How would I convert them from mp3 into whatever format the ericsson T68i uses?
2. What software would I use to send the ringtones to my phone? (I have a infrared port on my laptop so connecting is not a problem)
3. Where can I get free or cheap ringtones for my T68i? (I don't mind paying but free is always better).

As far as I know you cannot directly convert MP3 files into AMR or IMY sound formats on T68 (sound recorder and ringtone format respectively).
What you can do is convert MP3 to WAV file and then convert WAV into AMR for listening on T68 only (you cannot use AMR as a ringtone). I do not think it is possible to convert WAV into IMY ringtone format.
Note that although AMR compression is very effective, you only have around 800KB free space on T68 even if you erase all custom themes, pictures and sounds, so it is unlikely that you are going to be able to upload more than one converted MP3. Plus sound quality is not pleasing to listen to.

For free ringtones use search on this site or internet - there are tons of them for free everywhere.
