P800 cut/copy/paste trick? |

I was reading the "P800 tips n tricks" thread and Raven mentioned a cut/copy/paste/delete trick but after searching esato I couldnt find out what the trick is! I'm hoping there is a way to do a cut/copy/paste when these functions are not available in the menu - some sort of pen stroke like on palm handhelds. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah, just press next to the text you want to highlight until the jotter triangle disappears. Then drag over the text. |

Thanks for the reply but that's not exactly what I meant. I worked out how to highlight the text but on some occasions there is no option to cut/copy/paste from the menu. Is there any way to do this? Thanks!

If you click to enter a new diary appointment.
Next click on the mini keyboard at the bottom of the screen.
Type say Hello
Highlight by dragging right to left across Hello
Now, next to 'Location' there is a little triangle pointing downwards click on that.
Click Copy
Hello can now be pasted into other apps using the same method but by clicking on paste instead of copy or by edit + paste on menu
hope this helps

I know this post was for the P800, but does anyone remember how to copy and paste with the T68i? I know you select text by holding down the "status slide switch" on the side and moving the joystick to highlight the text. But how do you copy and then paste it somewhere else? Thanks |

Wow, you call that a trick? Then l have a new trick too: if you press the little telephone keypad, while calling with the flip open, then another telephone keypad appears...

If you check the Jot manual apparently there's a "scribble" for cut, copy and paste ... haven't had time to try it though ...

The Jot description in the beginning of the manual does not show anything for cut, copy or paste.

Here's the jot manual that I've been using - not sure if everything is the same but I've picked up a few tricks not listed in the manual ...

Thanks again craigc... i found the commands i was looking for but unfortunately they dont work on the p800. To use them i think you need to do the bottom left to top right stoke that palms use for their commands and thats not available on the p800.
Raven if you read this please let us know what you meant by the cut/copy/paste trick you use all the time!!
Thanks!

Hi SunilC,
Not sure I know what you mean, but what I meant before was to highlight the text you wan't to copy with the stylus, and select copy from the edit drop down menu, or use the virtual keybouard and tap the little arrow to select copy/paste/cut/delete there...

adolfo that's a handy tip thanks!
Raven so that's what you meant about the cut/copy/paste trick! I thought you meant there was a scribble shortcut to do them but ive found out its not possible anyway!
Thanks for the replies everyone.
