they are fo touch typing. look on your computer keyboard. they will ahve the dot(s) on the 'J' and 'F' keys. again for touvh tying.
on the fone it lets you find the '5' without looking. great for dialing when it is in your poecket and you have a BT headset.
on your keyboard it is so you can touchtype and look at the screen.

its actually for seeing impared folks or for ppl on the go....its really useful when u r typing sms while driving (not advisable!!) and need to look at the road and not at the keypad....
summarised: it's for navigational purposes...by feel, if u know where 5 is, then the rest of the keys will be easier to guess

Yep,my old motocrap v2288e has a slightly different shaped #5 button and my Ericsson a2818s also has the 2 dots :-) Oh,and my missus's GD87 has 1 pathetic dot on the #5 that you can hardly notice!

have always thought the spots on No. 5 key was to help visually impaired people. In fact i thought all keyboards had them!!!! |

ALL phones have them, BTW on the subject of the 5 key, please change your keypad locks to something other than 5555, it is soooooooooooo obvious.
