OK, a couple of days ago, I posted a question about formatting MMC cards and the "File System Error". No matter how I formatted the card under XP (using a USB reader and the original parallel port reader) it would still give me the same error. Well I found a soloution and thought I'd share it with you guys just incase someone faces the same problem. I had to install windows 2000 on my other machine. I first tried formatting the card with my USB reader under my win2k machine, but the problem was still there. Then, I plugged the parallel port reader to the win2k machine, installed the following program (which is from the manufacturer's site):
ftp://ftp.scmmicro.com/dm/drivers/Ppmmc.zip
Please note that this driver and software is for Win 9x, NT and 2000 ONLY.
the XP beta driver (with no software) is here:
ftp://ftp.scmmicro.com/dm/drivers/PPMMC%20WinXP%20BETA%20driver.zip

After installing the software and driver under 2000, I used the format utility which I just installed to format the MMC card in the parallel port reader. Then, I did as suggested and ran the check disk utility (a utility provided by windows). To do so, right click on your parallel reader's drive, select properties/select the Tools tab, and click on error checking's "check now/ then click on both boxes and choose start.. sit back and wait, it's gonna take a while since it's using the parallel port, and depending on how big your card is. After that I put the card back in the reader, and it worked with no problems! The "File System Error" message was gone! Now I can even put songs onto the card from XP using my USB reader. I just won't format the card under XP again! The drag and drop method, or send to card method both work fine. If your reader has a light, just wait for the "writing" light to turn off after you copied the songs to the card. If the reader doesn't have a light, just wait for a minute after it says the copying is complete, to ensure you don't get the "file write delay error" message....

Hope this helps!
