My very personnal opinion is that everybody was expecting ms to release a native bt support in win sp1..actually it hasn't been released and companies selling bt products all had to find a way to make their product work...most of them bought widcomm software, some release their own - sony, 3com, fujitsu-siemens, etc.. -

The tdk/msi comparison is just perfect to illustrate that : the dongle seem to be the very same hardware...but tdk delivers 1327 drivers whereas msi feed us with 1.2.2.?? last updated in june 2002...and the marketing follows as tdk mentions many features where msi sell you a pc2pc dongle...

In france price comparison between them is outrageous - 180€ vs 45€ -

I think tdk paid a much bigger amount for software license than msi but also have the opportunity to be one of the only manufacturer to be selling such a complete dongle, giving them the opportunity to set the price they wish....
