Hi,
I would be travelling to France very soon and will stay there for quite a while. Since my current US network provider is going to charge me for roaming while I'm in France, I am wondering are there any pre-pay SIM card I can use over there. Any recommedations in network provider and what are the charges? Thanks in advance!

hello all.
i will be going to london and paris in 2 days. i will be in each city for 3 days. there seem to be some pretty cheap sim cards in the uk with reasonable rates to call back home. but i am having a hard time finding them in france.
my question is what to do...
1) buy 2 separate sim cards one for each country.
2) buy a card in the uk and roam in paris
3) use tmobile's worldclass international phone service
i just got a new t610 recently and am hesitant to bring it over there and have it nicked by some child pickpocket. i have an old t68i that i was going to use. i suppose i could swap the sims and get the tmobile service, but if i lose the phone and my current active sim, will tmoble replace the sim or am i s.o.l.?
i plan on using the phone mostly to call back home and perhaps locally - make reservations, etc. i suspect that i would be doing more of that in london since i don't speak french.
any advice would be helpful.
thanks,
akilan

sfr / vodafone has stores in all cities throughout france ...sim cards cost approx E€20 and have the same value of calling credit ..most of the people who work in the stores speak English as they realise evryone else in the world is too lazy to bother learning their language ..the prepay sim cards are called La Carte (the card !!)

The initial credit is around 5 euro when u pay 18euro to buy a sim , in my opinion SFR is the best network( Vodafone) but the Orange is the cheapest prepayed with a number.
