Hi,

Is there a way to get the clock to be displayed in the bottom, while the flip is open? (Not virtual flip mode). It seems strange that it is not displayed there. Second, is there a clock screen saver like on the T68?

It should be possible, as this is a standard feature of UIQ. I guess SE have decided to disable for some reason (not enough room maybe?).

Any clever developers want to write an applet to re-enable it?

Why? it would take up space on the status bar(which can get crowded).

But I suppose they should have given us a choice...

I know this isn't quite what you were looking for, but I've found that Handy Day from Epocware is very useful... It shows a "Today" page whenever you open the flip. This includes Date and Time, All appointments for the day, all the Task due on the day, and any new messages. It also gives you 6 additional quicklaunch icons.

I agree, a clock in the bottom of the screen would be great. I'd also like a clock in the screensaver. Feels like a feature any screensaver should have.

it's a nice utility, but too expensive for a "kinda cool" feature like that...

why would it be expensive? They already have the code for it in T68, all they have to do is port it over to Symbian. It should not be too hard. And I think there are a lot of P800 users out there wh would like to see it implemented.

sintax, I think oferlaor was refering to handy day in his comment about it being expensive... read back a couple of posts before his comment in this thread and you will see what I mean.

Just getting back to the clock in the system tray for a second, I don't think it would take up that much extra space because it could/should/would replace that little red dot thing. I would certainly find it handy to have a clock in the sytem tray rather than having to click on the red dot every time I need to check the time. [addsig]
