after reading the user guide book that came with the p800, i tried some of the apps, n little tricks n features. after 10 mins of gettin lost in the features n menus i consulted the book again. i tried what it said but to no avail, so i jus tried randomly to do things (like device lock, it states in the book its 1111, but its 0000!! took me a further 5 mins of frustration to work this out! i was then looking at the speaker phone option, and again the instructions are different from what you have to do.

also when the phone is in the cradle, its sposed to be able to use power fom the usb cable to charge, but it doesnt. apparently you have to plug the charger into the cradle somewhere, but im not sure yet, coz im at work without the cradle.

why cnat they jus get things right, they told us false info regarding the phones launch, its cost, and why it has been so delayed, and they cant even get hte instructions on how to use the phone right!!!

phew thats my rant for the day over with!!!!

this is more reliable - I always check with manufacturers manuals instead - they are more in-depth - you need acrobat

Thanks for that, i thought i had f***ed up with the device lock when it said wrong code, but after reading this have managed to change the code.
also it says in the manual that sim card lock is on page 10.3 but pade 10.3 is about saving to memory stick and installing aps.

I downloaded the proper manual after a couple of days frustration with the crappy orange manual.

Sounds like the manual with regards to the device lock is ****ing everybody up! I was just about to call up Orange when I though I'd try 0000. During those intervening 5 mins my cash flashed before my eyes in a rather bewildering mosaic pattern.

Also, anybody got a duff manual that replicates chapters, thus missing some of the later ones completely?

Im really annoyed about the manual from orange with the P800. Considering that the phone has been available in other countries since late last year/early this year i thought that with all the extensive testing they carry out they should at least be able to sort the manual out. I have e-mailed orange this evening about the state that they call a manual and am waiting to hear their reply.

Any word on Line 2 and auto sms receipts?

Have Orange requested that it is added to next firmware?

Cheers,

The orange manual is only handy for bonfire night. It is full of crap about network features but only goes in to basic operation of the phone.

Why do Orange have to "Orangise" every phone they sell?, surely they mist know by now it just p***es off their customers ....

I spoke to Orange and SE about the line 2 issue and neither had a clue. The SE rep I asked had to have line 2 explained to him by me and the girl at Orange fax & data asked me what a P800 was. I then spoke to someone slightly more intelligent who thought that it may be able to be resolved by a future SW version - don't see how though!

I'm keeping mine more in hope than expectation but I just can't find it in me to part with Everyday 50 for £9 a month, even if there's th slimmest chance I may be able to use it in the future!
