P800 with chinese language is called P802 and is different from the P800. It has 9MB internal memory instead of 12MB. Guess the chinese language takes up a lot of space. Sorry, but it seems like you have bought the wrong phone. |

Forward the sms to another phone that supports chinese if the messag is important for you.

No, the P800 does not support Chinese. The Chinese language takes up a lot of space, that's why Ericsson/SE have always made a different version of their lineup. There are 2 Chinese versions of the P800. The P800c is for the HK Chinese market, the P802 is for mainland China, and I think the 802 supports more Chinese dialects. |

I think though that just including the fonts to display Chinese (not input methods like handwriting recognition) wouldn't take up that much space. After all, my old Nokia 5110 could display Chinese characters if I send it an SMS containing Chinese from my T68i with Hong Kong firmware. |

Yes, P800 can display chinese. You needs to download a file called Linnea.gdr from http://www.epocn.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewsdownload&sid=5&min=10&orderby=titleA&show=10
If you cannot get it there then just email me and I'll sent it to you. After getting this file, you have two option:-
1. copy it to c:systemsfonts (internal memory) or
2. copy it to d:systemsfonts (external MSD)
I'll sugguest you go for 2. instead cause if you don't like the chinese font you can just remove the MSD and everthing will be restored to it original form. But if you go for 1. please be fore warned that you can't delete the chinese font file as normal cause when you reboot your P800, the system will automatically use up and lock the file. To remove the file you have to do a internal disk format which will erase everthing inside your P800 (remember to do a backup first).
After copy linnea.gdr into the proper dir. Reboot your p800 and you will be able to read chinese character (SMS). Remember, you can only read but not write in chinese. |

The method mentioned above is guaranteed to work if you only want to be able to read chinese character in SMS (personally test and works). And is you want to visit chinese site, its better to use WEBVIEWER. |

Ya, off course. There are some way to change the chinese font and it's bit nicer. Mind to try out? But the process is bit trickier. |

You're welcome. Just remember try whatever you want at your MSD not the internal memory. |
