What is the difference between a memory stick and a memory stick duo? Can i view photographs or video taken on my sony digital camera on the p800? TIA

Hi Anuj,
The difference is that the Duo is a smaller form factor than the standard Memory Stick. The P800 will only take a Duo, so no, you cannot use the memory stick from the camera in the P800.
The Duo does come with an adapter to convert the duo to the size of a normal memory stick, but I would imagine that the format of the file system on the cards for the camera and P800 are different. you could try the Duo with adapter in the camera and see if it works and then try to use the Duo without adapter in the P800 to see if you can see the images.

Anuj... you got the P800 forum and now you don't even use it!?!
And as a search might tell you memory stick duo is half the physical size of a normal memory stick. You can use an adapter to turn a mem stick duo into a standard memory stick, but not the other way around. So no, you can't use a standard memory stick in the P800 |
