you select the track so that it is showing in the whole screen and then press delete track...
I know it's a bit tricky....

can't you also do it through your PC. My P800...select audio...delete

yeah, not the most obvious thing is it? why couldn't they provide an option to delete on any view of the tune within the audio applet?
