I have a T68i (upgrade) and can confidently say to my customers that is is still one of the best phones ever made in terms of features, reliabilty, support, and ease of use. They generally look doubtful- after all, it is nearly 1 year old now.
Will the P800 follow in its footsteps? With free SW upgrades, and support from the public in arenas like ESATO, I reckon the P800 will be another classic that other manufactureers are only just achieving in 12 months time (3G permitting). Your views!

IMHO the T68i is the best phone to date. It broke the mould for phones bringing in everything we could want in a small sized unit. Colour, bluetooth, GPRS, MMS, email, wap, themes, etc etc. I think phones like the Sharp GX10 are bringing some of these functions to the masses in a more convenient and easier to use package. But lets not forget that they come 1 year after the T68i.

If your question had been "what is the best communicator to date" then yes, the P800 would rate highly, though I think it still has to prove itself. But lets not forget that the 9110 (and 9210) set the standard and I think alot of people would be hard pressed to argue the toss comparing the P800 with some of the new breed of pocketpc communicators such as the XDA etc.

For the future, I look forward to 3G phones that can be used while roaming. I still insist that the killer unit for me at this time would be the IPAQ 5450 with its built in wifi, if only they added GSM/GPRS capabilities into the unit, and I believe this more so as wifi hotspots become much more available.

well I have to say that - after leaving the T68, and getting into bed with the Samsung T100, and then realising what a fool I had been, going out and buying a nice new T68i - The T68i is the best phone on the market at the min.

I say this - because it looks good (so do loads more ; nokias and the samsung)
It has loads of features (as do most nokias)
It has a great battery life (as do some nokias)
It does not represent the microsoft/ford of the mobile world, by being nothing but trouble, with dodgy s/w or poor build quality - nokia

Best phone that I have had is the T68/T68i - best phone on the market (looks/features/value) = T68i

I probably think my 9210 was the best phone I have used.

Email/Web/Wap/Fax (unique I believe in that it could receive faxes without any other device/service needed)

Plus the speakerphone facility was great.

I admit it was big, but then it was released 2 years ago.

According to a big consumerinvestigation in Denmark the best was T39! I share this opinion. Only 8910 is near. I hope and wish that SE should start to product T39i like Nokia 8910i !

Small phone: Siemens s55.. It kicks t68i in the ass. However it is brand new while the t68i is a year old. But it IS better.
Smart phone : p800.

Best for it's time : Probably t68i(for the youth it has to be the nokia 3210).

I've owned all of the above.
The siemens I took back after a day. Because I got the p800.
If someone made me choose between the s55 and the t68i I'd take the s55 any day. I can't think of a single thing missing.
It could read email attachments, poly ringers , speakerphone.
The phone is nearly perfect(The screen is a major drawback)
It even looks sweet.

Buying a t68m in 2001 & getting the free "i" upgrade was unbelievable value for money. I think an upgraded T68m was the best phone i could have wished for in EVERY respect, looks , features, menus, feel, durability, battery life, AND reliability.
BUT now for me, messaging is what phones are all about,(Rather than voice calls) the p800 i now use is better, i couldn`t go back to a t68 size screen & compared to p800 the t68 is very slow.

Check out Siemens SX1 just announced in Cannes. Weighs 110 grams and is packed with more features than t68. Plus it's got a unique keyboard layout - will take some getting used to, though.

I own an i-upgraded t68m, but would like to have a phone that would give me the features that a middle-range PDA can offer. And with that said, I think P800 comes closer to this that any other phone (read smartphone).

My name should say it all! S55 sounds good from what others are saying. Still I bet the P800 is the best, but I haven't actually used one yet.
