I followed all the advice I found on these forums, but only one worked for me:
Start the sync, then kill all processes for the synch-applications (EPMworker and xtndconnect), and then re-start the sync
The other advice was:
1. upgrade to firmware R2B - made no difference
2. reduce the IR transfer speed to 19k
3. Update the MDAC drivers to version 2.7 - made no difference, but you can get them here: http://www.microsoft.com/data/download_270RTM.htm

Hello! I've tryed 2 different cabels. One that did'nt work. And the other one i got that works. Culd it be that there is a difference in the cabels? That there is one for the other
"low-end" T-models and one for T68 and the high-end phones? |

I have problems myself running Win98SE + Outlook XP, get regular illegal operations of epmworker and when my winfax pro 10.02 is set to 'Automatic Recieve', unless I end task pdq on epmworker I end up having the pc reboot on me without warning..
Does anyone have a link to a site that shows the registry entries that the r4a package puts in? I'd ideally like to be able to kill off epmworker from loading at the start.. |

@GavMackem
Just search for the right startup entry in your registry. |

@GOWin and others:
I didnt have to bother going through the registry so clean out the CLSID's, the new MPM software included in the new MyPictures did the trick, I was able to block the software successfully in the new version from scanning my normal COM1 and 2 and solely being on the IrDA instead, stopping the PC from rebooting.
Therefore I highly recommend installing the upgrade.. |

Same problems here.
My Bluetooth Places works fine. I just make the phone searchable and double click the icon to establish a connection. So far so good.
But no application seems to find the phone. XTND Connect doesnt, Phone settings does occasionally (and when it does, everything else works too).
Any ideas? |

Me too! I am so frustrated. I use the MSI bluetooth dongle. I installed the MSI bluetooth software, plus Package 4 recommended by arnoldc (http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=3497&forum=17).
I tried to follow the directions given by GOWin (http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=10241&forum=18), but still:
- i can get the phone connected via bluetooth serial, but
- xtndconnect can't connect to the phone.
I watch the phone when xtnd tries to sync, and it actually DROPS the bluetooth connection to the phone. If the phone is not connected prior to trying to sync, it connects for a second, but the program still can't find it.
And of course, the Phone Settings software can't see the phone either.
I've enabled the ports and all, but haven't really been able to configure the Serial Ports - that option doesn't exist in the MSI My Bluetooth Places.
Heck, I'm just about lost here. All I want to do is sync w/ outlook via bluetooth!!!

I don't know if anyone else has this problem. The sonyericsson staff hadn't heard of it.
When syncing my text messages in outlook (windows xp, outlook 2002, latest firmware on a t68i (recently upgraded) and latest communication suite) any text messages with a date <13/MM/YYYY appear in an American format (MM/DD/YYYY. Everything else is forced into a European format.
I have tried altering the date format on the phone with no luck, but have found if I change windows setting to American it syncs fine.
Has anyone else had this problem? It also occurs with phonebook and text message editor?
I have been assured that the firmware is European.
I would be pleased to here any theories.

dgsinclair, have you got XP - because I hear that XNDT just isn't supported by XP! |
