this is really getting me ticked off...have problem with my phone....i just got me replacment phone and having the same prob..has anyone else gottin this on their t68i..will be talking with a friend from florida for a about an hour or two..then it will get silent...i will look at my phone..and a box will pop up..and say..."encoding swiched on/off"...does anyone know what that is?..or how to fix it?...will also get a screeching sound on it like a fax machine does...really hurts the ears...lol...please help....anyone?.

it's a network dependent function... turning off and on ciphering... to prevent the "popups" and the sound a service point can permanently turn off ciphering

is there anything that i can do about that..it really pisses me off...sorry about the language....if i cant fix this i may have to resort to getting a new phone...i really dont want to do this ..but if i have to ...

I've had the same problem with my phone on AT&T. I called both SE and AT&T, and they basically blamed each other. What I did figure out on my own is that basically you get that message before you get a dropped call. I've never had a dropped call w/ out that message popping up. Not that this would help you much, but at least you know.
