Hey, Im new to this forum and to the SE T300 phone. Im looking at getting a data cable to connect the T300 to the computer.
I dont know what way to go. I dont want to pay the $90 australian dollars to get the original USB data cable, so i thought why not a generic cable. The only one i can find is a Serial Port cable. What is the difference between the 2? and will the programs used to do things with the phone work with the Serial Port cable?
Does anyone have the setup i described? (generic Serial port cable?)
also, i have read about IR, how can it be used to do the same thing?

i don't really know much but i'll try to help u with what i know.
currently i'm using the ericsson R1A serial data cable SE MyPictures R2A for my t68i. what i know is that communication is faster through usb than serial but since themes, tone 7 images aren't that considerably big in file size i'm quite satisfied with my serial data cable.
on ur question about ir, from what i'v read in other threads, the advantage is that you can send images to your pc from your phone through ir and bluetooth. with the data cable i can't send any images to my pc, what i do is that i email the images to my pc using my t68i.
