Sony just announced it
https://www.sony.eu/presscent[....]s-10-series-with-xperia-10-vii
- Snapdragon 6 gen 3
- 3 colours, black, white and turquoise
- 6.1" OLED (1080x2340) 19.5:9
- 168g
- 153 x 72 x 8.3 mm
- 50 MP (Exmor RS) 1/1.56" F1.9 24mm
- 13 MP 1/3" F2.4 16mm
- Front camera - 8 MP 1/4" F2.0 (same as 10 VI)
- 8 GB ram
- 128 GB UFS
- microSDXC support up to 2 TB
- Android 15 (up to 4 OS update support)
- 5000 mAh battery
- 3.5mm jack
- dual front speakers
So ok update, the main camera is 1.6x larger than the 10 VI main camera, but no LE Audio support, and no exmor T. Shame about the SoC, not sure how well it will cope with 5 OS updates over it's life cycle.

They finally added a camera shutter key on a 10- series, and the camera upgrade is also nice, typical Sony aesthetics too (no punchhole/notch, pill nonsense)
This could have been my ideal secondary smartphone had they not abandoned our market.

supposedly the shutter button is not a 2 stage like on the 1 VII.

It's the same size as a iPhone 17 or Pixel 10 now, so a common "smaller" size, but not in any way like a Compact of old, and even a llittle different to the slightly less wide 21:9 models. Of course it has a few unique features remaining, no hole in square-cornered display, headphone jack, card slot. Main camera sensor (which is the one I care about) is a decent size, hope it takes good photos. Good that a shutter button was added, but it's a real shame it isn't a two-stage one. That would have given something a little unusual and a point of differentiation (and emphasised the Sony camera heritage, though I think it's a pretty distant relation in practice). Not too exciting, but just about kinda OK phone.

Is 441ppi and 120hz pretty decent for a mid range phone?

3UK has had a compatible network since 2022 it seems. So basically, this technology is what 5G was supposed to be the first place - being able to use Voice and Data simultaneously, without having to be supported by a 4G network.

Seems understandable that with no Xperia 5 vii people would flock to the new 10 model. The turquoise is eye-catching.
