At this point it's a guessing game. Who knows, maybe people at Sony were also flip flopping when to do the online event.
If we assume that at least 10III will be released in mid or by the end of May then announcement could be by the end of the April? Right? But who knows if manufacturing is on time as well, maybe that's also postponed due to whatever component not being available. Too many variables at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if Sony does the reveal one day before device will be available for sale but at least that would guarantee huge online leak before the event.
With Sony you never know, they went from being a company that never updates their phones to a company that had the world's first out of box devices with the newest Android version and then they became a company that has just an OK upgrade release timeline. |

There are gossips about Qualcomm not being able to deliver all chips. Covid affecting supply chains.
Also that they had to give priority to ones that buy more amount of chips.

Sony Taiwan says sales grew up 33% there in 2020.
I am not sure if I have understood well, but looks like 70% of sales there were 1ii.

Haha isn't this video made by another guy and was shown before?  sincerely hope they solve the overheating issue of snapdragon 888. If not, I rather they use snapdragon 870. |

ya that is a pretty sketchy youtube account.
1. the channel top banner is blurry and not high resolution.
2. Sony Xperia Deutschland may exist in Germany but Sony xperia has only one youtube account, Sony Xperia.
3. Why would an xperia youtube channel upload videos of sony's headphone products? those only show up on Sony Europe youtube. Likewise the real sony xperia channel has no headphone videos, all of the channel is dedicated to the phone, camera, photography, videos etc.
4. Joined 31 May 2017, 14k total views
5. very few videos have over 1k views, no official channel would be this poorly run.

Everydoby here knows it is not the Sony Germany channel.
But if it was just fan made render, it would show much more.
I just feel weird the fact phone seems to be black glass, but silver frame.
Sony never does it.

that eprice article also stated that Sony Mobile had said the 2021 flagship will get announced in April
looking at the $2K USD Pro, I wonder what will be the price of 1 III

Well, since the launch of the Apple iPhone 12 mini ... seems that Sony is planning or began developing their Compact lineup once again ... something they should've never dropped.
Curious if sales were lackluster due to lack of end user demand from no longer wanting compact phones - OR horrible design of the last 2 models and users voting with their dollars against purchasing horrible design.

That 14cm notched phone is told to be Ace 2 or L5.
It was reported back then that XZ1 was very good seller in Japan in 2018 (top 10 at docomo) while XZ1c not.
XZ2c was worst seller of Sony history. Even XZ2P could do better despite not being available everywhere.
Anyway, you need 5,5" or smaller to make phone small like XZ2c.
But phone would be too narrow.
Less than 6cm.
People today do more stuff on phones that they used to.
People use a lot phones to watch videos from social media, youtube and even sports.
Small screen is not good for that.

L4 is 21:9 and Ace 2 (or whatever) isn't. So it suggests it's not an L5 ? Compacts could be 18:9 or 16:9 ? But it's probably an Ace 2 for Japan only

Model Sony A running SD480 on Geekbench pretty much sums it, the compact phone is Sony Ace (2). |
