Against phones that after months have lost some mAh.
Any 100, 200, 300mAh lost makes difference there.

Mrwhostheboss did a battery test between the S21 Ultra, S20 Ultra, iPhone 11 Pro Max and 12 Pro Max.
The S21 Ultra came first with flying colors.

If you use your phone on airplane mode with wifi on that this could be relevant. I would assume 99% of the people have their phones on cellular network and they do make phone calls

Dave2D reviewed s21u & he said it's a comfortable 2 day battery. Thanks to the variable refresh rate which can go as low as 10 hz.

This reminds me of XJ's 🔋🔋🔋🔋⬅2⃣4⃣➡

Maybe this is how x1iii will achieve over 24h battery life, depending on usage. Thanks to the new ltpo screen

Sharp phones can drop to 1Hz.
Nothing new. Samsung is copycat company, all their divisions.

Could this 870 phone be the Pro? It's probably easy to just replace 865 with 870. And since it's already 2021 maybe Sony wanted Pro to look more recent.

But I don't believe Sony will use a 7xx chip. I may be wrong but they never used a 7 series chip before. It's always in 6 series.

@onleaks posted a notched Xperia. Probably Ace II ..

They are not going to change CPU of Pro.
Just the higher clock is enough to change whole software, do it all over.
People interested in it, want to take advantage of 5G and hdmi.
CPU does not matter.

870 is not even new chip.

This screams entry level. The chin and thickness suggests an LCD display, a 13mp camera? Probably a Samsung sensor. An L5? The cameras are inwards too just like the older L. They only notched the L last year. And this looks like a 2:1 aspect ratio. And it's still bigger than most people consider compact. IMO it's a good size, only if they've used oled, less chin and was thinner with a 7 series chip.

If you're gonna use a notch, at least justify it with a better front cam too. Can't be more than an entry level, or could even be Japan only.

Maybe it is the device rumored to use SD480. 5G chip for low ends.
Too small to be L5.
Sony has many 13MP, those 1/3". Ace has same main camera used by 10+/10ii ..

I know they have 13mp, they used it in XA. But L3, L4, 10 did not have one single Sony sensor in them. This seems closest to Ace, could be the entry 5G phone but this is not a regular compact. Maybe L5 compact, Ace2 (Sony could name it Ace 1) or they could name it Xperia 100 or 10 compact (don't think mark 3 could be used). It's a a shame tho, the overall shape is pretty nice.

BTW if this is 2:1 5.5" top and bottom bezels are 15mm. It's around the same for 5ii. It's just bottom heavy.
Idk, maybe they regretted making L4 long. This way, at least some people might want it as it is a smaller phone if the chip is Snapdragon and performs OK for daily use.

L4 has 3 rear cameras.
Wide, ultra wide and useless depth.
This one has dual system.

This really targets Sharp midranges.
I would not expect low price, Ace is was expensive than 10+.

Why not just do Xperia 10 reverse the chin into forehead and put a selfie cam there instead of a notch?

You can pre-order Pro in Japan on wednesday.
Tweet from Nikoshita (someone who posts about info on upcoming camera gear).

Person claims it is L5.

Is it possible to tell if camera is 16mm or 52mm just looking at it?

No. It isn't 16mm nor 52mm in the first place - it's equivalent to 16/52 in full frame sensor focal length.

I know, but is easier to say just 16/52 than 16/52 (35mm equiv).
Everydoby does this for cellphones.
