Yes. I was half expecting something yesterday.

Pls tell me that you was ”half expecting” a nice tablet compact replacement 🤷‍♂️

Lord. All the old ones' batteries are all dying. Another handy tab would be great.

I don't remember ever using the rear cam on my tablets. A decent front cam is a must. I'd prefer another 8" screen but 21:9 for some good split screen action.

Probably not, we expect 1III to have all imx sensors inside this time around so at least one will be different. I wonder how Sony will realign the pricing, maybe they keep it as is and duke it out against S21 Ultra or they drop some features to lower the price to slot in between S21+ and S21 Ultra

I doubt all exmor.
Someone said here 1ii would not have isocell.
Having 1 or 2 isocell, surely made sony earn much more money because isocell is cheaper than exmor.

Let's suppose having 4 exmor would cost X dollars.
Let's suppose 2 exmor + 2 isocell cost 0,7X.
Now multiply per all units sold.
This is millions of dollars.

I doubt it is gonna change.

My bad, I forgot about selfie cam cause I don't ever use it. Yes, selfie cam will remain isocell 99% but zoom sensor will most likely be imx. Either that or there will be some huge improvements on the main/uw sensor which would justify isocell on zoom to keep the price in check.

What I find interesting is that I find isocell zoom more useful than ultrawide when shooting stills. I use ultrawide only when I shoot videos because stabilization is a lot better than the other two. For photography zoom lens is probably more important especially if you are shooting faces but in video you want that wide look. So it's either give or take Of course both are garbage compared to the main sensor, they are just there for convenience.

Why does the UWA have better video stabilization? Because it is the one without OIS.

If my phone had UWA, I would not use.
24-25mm is already too wide for me.
Having the 363 as 72-110mm real zoom periscope would be way much better than using it as ultra wide.

I think this means mind blowing rear camera. So I expect at least one significant upgrade in the camera setup. There were also talks about periscope zooms.

Isn't this Alvin, Alvin Zahran from here? He had the unsolvable hint about 1ii.

Honestly I don't think Sony would lose anything if they opted for this sd875 if it exists. But if they keep the cameras same and no micro front camera with less bezels. It'll be a boring upgrade.

Uwa modules are easier to keep thin with larger sensors. Also you don't get as much cam shake as longer focal lengths.

The lack of sponsored posts already results in bad reviews from few websites (read what Android Police have on it).
Imagine not using best cpu.
Nobody is going to charge $1200 or more for phone with cpu second level (on pair with exynos 1080).

How many times did you guys see posts on weibo/twitter saying 5ii was gonna use 865+?
Same story.

The wider the lens the less camera shake affects things, you don't need OIS on an ultra wide. It doesn't mean it's got better stabilisation, it's just easier to work with.

No matter the FL.
If the 24mm and 70mm did not have OIS as well, video stabilization would be better too.
Apple was clever to ditch OIS on 12 pro max in favor of IBIS.

If Sony can do those specs and up the camera and match S21U in some ways, it'll have higher res screen, mSD, 256gb (S21U base is 128), headphone jack, 4K@120Hz. It's not like 875 will be midrange. It's a proper flagship soc from what's leaked. Sony already invested in some photography channel reviews and I believe it was AA who made a dedicated camera review and praised it, even SuperSaf was mild about 1ii. I don't think a bit more Ghz in an X1 core would make a big difference.

It's not OIS's fault that it's a bad implementation, IBIS is also a mechanical solution. What's holding Sony back from using both? And at 12mp 4K recoring with only EIS would probably be horrible. Not many extra pixels.
