If it's true there is a DCI 4K model, wouldn't that imply a new Pro? One that's even more tuned to be a video monitor. Could be the 1iii is still 21:9 but the Pro ii is 17:9.

I don't see Sony going 17:9 after all manufacturers have gone 20:9 or more. True 4K also doesn't make sense since they won't be able to call it UHD. They can get away with 3840 pixels and call it 4K, why would they go over 4000 for no marketing benefit. Unless the punch hole is true then if they make a 22:9 6.76" display it'd be the same width but would exceed 4000 pixels. This way they can still have an uninterrupted 21:9 display for movies while improving bezel size.

Interview given by design team.
They made clear they do not want any screen obstruction.
Patent does not mention ugly hole.
The dutch website supposes it has.
I bet first one will be the design of 1iii. That is what can be done by using Micro Matrix developed by Sony Semicon.

It would make sense as an advanced monitor for their professional video cameras, not as a consumer device.

As much as I wanna see new 1iii, hope sony does not finish it before febrauary.
Mi11 has serious issues with heat.
One of those youtube battery drain tests.

It wouldn't be the first time the design team backtracked. See headphone jack removal.
If they use only 21:9 and shrunk the top and bottom, this will leave less space in the body. By making the screen taller with hole could provide the same height. I don't think they'll punch hole a 21:9 display. But seems even Zackbuks had said it. He sometimes recites the rumors though.
I think XJ's hint about camera means a meh front camera. I don't expect micro matrix soon. Would be dope if they did have it.

They didn't out the Xperia Pro yet. I don't know if they ever will. If they did how many will they sell? If they can price it however they want a pro with different display and body could be possible but given their sales, I don't know if they can manufacture a whole different device only for professional use. |

They could easily make 6,6 and 6,2 instead of 6,5 and 6.1 if they cut bezels by half with MM.
Phone could be bit wider with similar height .
They need to fix the bokeh mode.

** does anyone know any of those android codes you dial to check battery? I have found few but only work for newer android. I need to know how much mAh left after all this years.
My phone quickly drops from 100% to 85%, then is stable. I do not know if it is poor signal of my carrier. Sometimes with 18-25% it turns off. Sometimes battery is 12%, turns off and when I try to turn on it says 0%.

I bought a used xz3 and it sometimes shows 2720mah and sometimes 2600mah but the phone still usually lasts 6 hours so can't really say about its accuracy. |

It says 2284mAh. Bad health, please replace !!!
If I go to battery and check how much apps used, rarely pass 1200mAh.

Z3+ ... I want new one, but no xperia here officially.
Cant afford $1000 for X1 mark I without warranty from alternative market here.
Buying on ebay would end up like $1300-1500 with import taxes.
Is there any chance antennas get damaged during screen replacement?
Since it was fixed, signal rarely goes 3/4. Only half ... |

It's not crazy to guess how a bezelless Sony phone would look.

Someone on reddit posted a post about no real info so far has been out.
Someone commented "reliable source says it can do 8K".
I hope it does not.
Unless Sony pulls out a miraculous tech, no way with high MP the device can do what 1ii does.
48Mp quadbayer has 1/3 of the speed of imx557.
I've seen twice comments about one prototype 50MP, while the other has 12.
