i haven't read about anybody having swipe UI problems. what exactly do you mean is the problem? Again, I have experience with swipes not registering because of calloused fingertips. Not sure if that's your problem too (maybe?) but just a thought.

I don't have calloused fingertips. I believe it has more to do with the angle of the thumb that may cause the display not registering my swipes.

Now some photos from my latest excursion

The color accuracy and details are just incredible, whereas HDR leaves a little to be desired.

I suppose Backlit is DRO.

The HDR of photo pro is stacking.
Results are very different from DRO or Backlit.

It gets locked when you try AF-C + 20fps. Of course.

saw the night mode in one of those reviews but as I said not auto - I believe that will come in the standard app later - no reason why not

DRO adds a hideous filter to the photos and HDR in Photo Pro app seems to do nothing really.

Has any of you had issues with rear panel losing paint?
Looks like it happens mainly to purple and bit with white.
Black is safe.

That looks like the rear panel itself with the colour coating on the back of the glass coming off

The photos are in that order the title says.
I'm not impressed with the HDR or DRO function of this phone at all.

Pro tip of the day, just avoid all extremely back light situations like that.

you're shooting directly into the sun from a dark area. i don't think any camera would be able to handle that situation and get perfectly even highlights and shadows throughout with perfect exposure.

the HDR did a good job of keeping the detail of the branches and leaves directly in front of the sun.

this is about as much as you could ask for with an auto mode.

I think this video shows the capability of the auto focus by Xperia 1ii. Maybe Xperia 1ii is the king of auto focus.

after doing more research, i've decided nano coating is probably not a good option to protect my $1200 phone. what are the brands of screen protectors people have gotten and have liked? Could you share links if possible?

Thanks!
