One of the main selling points of the Xperia 1ii is the screen. It seems that Oneplus 8 pro, at least on paper, takes the lead.

OP claim the following:
- 10 Bit display vs 8 Bit + frc for Xperia 1ii
- 40% less blue light. This indicates that they're using the newest Samsung panel. There's no indication that Xperia 1ii uses that panel.
- 1300 nits. Presumably Xperia 1ii won't come near that.
- 120Hz OP8 Pro vs. 60Hz Xperia 1ii
- 4k for the Xperia.
- Supposedly better color calibration for Xperia

Other areas where OP may have the lead:
- ufs 3.0 + turbo write.
- battery
- They use Nokias OZO tech. I wonder how Xperia will stack up against - Sony has mentioned several things about mic. For instance, wind noise filter.

It's not true 10bit display it's still 8+2 only supported on native QHD+, if you lower it to FHD+ it's just 8bit. Sure as hell will be bright but not 1300 nits as claimed bright, more like around 800 in real life cases. Still much more than Xperia 1 and if hands on videos of X1II are any indication it's exact same panel as Xperia 1 doing 400 nits.

Would you care to share some evidence regarding OP's screen?

When companies says 1000+ nits, they do same display mate.
White point that covers 1% of screen.
Oled will have more brightness as you decreased area used.
None of these phones can reach 1000 nits using whole screen.

Native 10bit is very expensive.

SD865 = 144Hz QHD or 60Hz 4K.
Sony cant unlock 120Hz again.

Creator Mode can push 1 to near 700 nits.
That is more than enough.
More nits = sooner burn in.

Bonus : main thread has specs of 5ii ... 😁

It's the same screen as in Oppo X2 Pro and there has been numerous independent display tests over the web already. It's an extremely good implementation of the panel none of the less. First things first that super high brightness is only available in Vivid Mode which has nothing to do with color accuracy. If you want color accuracy you have to switch to Natural mode and then display acts like Xperia 1 panel in Creator Mode which means you are limited around 500 nits manual and auto brightness goes to 800 (by 100 nits better than Xperia 1). Delta is still not as good as Xperia 1 Creator Mode but at such low values you can't really tell the difference. Also color reproduction (gamma tracking) is very good on various brightness levels, still not as good as Xperia 1 in creator mode but difference is not visible by the naked eye. Overall considering how bright it can be it's probably the best screen for general purposes, it does 95% of the stuff Xperia 1 does and it's a lot brighter.

GSMarena Wrote 1B colors on the spec sheet of OPPO Find X2 Pro and OnePlus 8 Pro but 16M colors on the spec sheet of Xperia 1, 5 They need to correct it.

Ok, thank you for the reply. Still remains to be seen what the Xperia 1ii packs though.

Buks said once Creator Mode has delta 0.8.
Gsmarena says Find X2P can reach delta 0.7.

I do not think 1 ii will be delayed until september, maybe in China.
I doubt it will still be held after early june.

Forget about HDR stacking, I kind of knew that rumors of the camera devs doing 180 by implementing computational photography like others are doing was false. Xperia guys will not change the photography philosophy cause the core of still imaging on Xperia was Alpha camera like approach since the begging but they started to favor video with motion eye camera, now they are back to stills with OIS implementation and what not. Xperia guys will do their thing which is to perfect "analogue" approach instead of computational. You will still see blown up white sky in direct lit daytime shots and you will still not be able to read far away light signs on buildings in night time.
