Alvin...

Have you seen the actual device to be announced in 24 days?

only the specs.

and i suggest all of you to keep your hopes down, just like last year. things would get better, but i don’t know how it will affect their sales (by things, i mean the next flagship’s specs). but please, don’t get too excited or you’ll end up feeling like 2018 or 2019 all over again (crying in disappointment).

So basically an incremental upgrade over last year's 1? I'm ok with that. I think the Xperia 1 and 5 are great devices. With some incremental improvements, tweaks, and changes, it has potential to be a great device.

So is the leaked camera array all BS or just the specific specs of the sensors and such? Any info you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Buks said 12 + 48/64 + 12 + tof, just like that rumor from caybule.
But 1/1.7" instead of 1/1.5" and no mention of periscope.

That little square is too small for periscope, unless it is a very small 5MP 1/5".

xperia 1 and 5 are two good devices, but in 2020 sony has to make devices much better than that one since everything from other manufacturers are growing rapidly. going half step ahead instead of one or two isn’t going to help this company survive.

i’m not sure if the leaked camera array and spec were wrong but the info given by those sites aren’t accurate at all. i assume that some informations they got right were only coincidences, they just made it up. i’m not allowed to say anything though, so sorry about that. all i can say is that some old features will be back and the little details will be improved, not as radical as the transition from xz3 to 1 though but i’m still not sure about that since i only knew the informations about the hardware stuff, not in detail.

Old features back.
Cam related or whole phone?

What could be improved in my opinion (hardware level):

- ufs 3.0 instead of 2.1 . The 3.1 was announced this week but I think it's too late to use now.
- usb 3.2 or 4.0
- ram ddr5
- battery capacity
- main cam with bigger size (more res would be welcome)
- better DAC for jack
- bigger power/FPS button, like z5 style.

I prefer both speakers grills with same design, like Z2.
The render follows xz2 style, top speaker with smaller grill.

What I like on mine.

- screen recording
- phone machine is better than voicemail box
- xperia keyboard
- put on my ear to answer call and shake phone to decline.
- cam app of course (one that came with Z5 android 5.1)

Thanks Alvin.

Sounds like I'll just have to wait and see.

As long as they fix the major problems the 1 had (overheating in particular) and improve other aspects, I think I'd be ok upgrading. But I'd be damn pissed off if they decide to unleash a much better device at IFA. Any ideas if there is a beast machine with drastic improvements in the pipeline?

Since 2016 IFA phone has not been the main device.

No heat pipe, it should be overheating, especially at summer
