Yes, but since everybody calls them zoom. (Even a company that makes cameras and lenses)..
It is easier to say zoom.
Which company is that?
Telephoto is a lens design description and not tied to a focal length, it's basically a lens shorter than the focal length.
As for the phone/s I think the redesign we've seen is correct, squarer sides, smaller bezels. Even if camera hardware doesn't evolve as much as we'd like, I hope there's a whole new camera app.

Sony calls 52mm on Xperia as tele.
But not on their alpha lenses.
Telephoto on wikipedia says : short (85-135mm), mid (135-300) and super (300- .....), all 35mm film equivl.
Cam app of android 5.1 - 8 was much better.
Now is just a copy a all other.
Should go back.

The 52mm equivalent lens could be a telephoto design. I don't think anyone knows the lens construction to know for certain. If it's physically shorter than that you can call it telephoto.
Telephoto doesn't mean it has to be a certain length, but it makes more sense on longer lens designs so that's where you see it.
Zoom means variable, it doesn't mean long. Ultra wide zoom is a thing.

It is the chance sony has to do well with midranges.
Samsung A51 is about $340.
Plastic body, just goriila 3.
CPu is similar to SD670 or 675.
Photo/video quality is awful.

Strong mid and low would be good. I recently looked at the Oppo A5.
SD665 4/64GB
Quad camera
5000mAh battery
4K video
GG3
£169

Oppo and vivo often seem just to change one or another component and call new phone. Realme even uses oppo UI.
This save tons of R&D.
I dont think sony would do it to cut costs.
Probably two midranges between $340 - $470 again.

Don't trust that news. All I can say is that, the real thing won't be as exciting as that one on things like camera and battery.

Alvin...
Have you seen the actual device to be announced in 24 days?
moogoo Nokia 5160 -> Nokia 8260 -> SE T68i -> SE K700i -> SE Z710 -> SE Xperia X10a -> Sony Xperia S -> Sony Xperia Z1 -> Sony Xperia XZ -> Sony Xperia XZ Premium -> Sony Xperia 1ii Website: https://www.mikedoesitall.com |

I wonder if this ranging shift is true.
Xperia 10 2020 drops to replace L3
Xperia 5 2020 drops to replace 10
Xperia 1 2020 drops to replace 5
Xperia 0 replaces 1 as premium model.
Seems a confusing change. If you buy a 5 now and in a month they announce a new 5 that's cheaper, but also lower spec.

only the specs.
and i suggest all of you to keep your hopes down, just like last year. things would get better, but i don’t know how it will affect their sales (by things, i mean the next flagship’s specs). but please, don’t get too excited or you’ll end up feeling like 2018 or 2019 all over again (crying in disappointment).

I dont care if it comes with 6/128, ufs2.1 again and 18W .
Just make a smaller version with LCD (like 5.9") ...
I feel satisfied already.
Bonus: also hope they fix the finger scanner and crappy steadyshot.

Just to criticise a cost down company you sure are doing a very hard job.. You read all the posts on this forum for Sony Fans and then bash and reply.. What's the need? |
