Actually, the S10 has very good background processing on sky. You can take a look yourself in several reviews about that. look at the background comparisson:

You can see some blue sky, while huawei phones are completely white sky.
even if its not strong enough, the blue sky is there.
The other ones still suffer on this issue.

Yes .... And it looks nice at first.
But artificial , while you realize foreground is much brighter than real scene.
Not even a auto mode + jpeg out of full frame without edition will give this bright foreground without sacrifice of background. And cameras have more DR than cellphones.
Of course Xperia do mistakes too. Like warm colours at night, slower shutter in daylight that overexpose sky, HDR that does not trigger in situations it should.
But Samsung is far from being the ideal target to be followed.
Problem is that interview on eprice. That they might consider this fake path other use.
With artificial looking.
They should not do it.
I am curious to know who told Max J about that device (5 cameras + ToF). Weird that a device shows up almost 1 year before it could be announced. Of course in case that phone is X1 replacement. |

Artificial or not, it is there while the other ones still strugle to get it. Thats my point.
In another news:
Damn, just saw that there will be no android 10 to my Xperia XZ1C. No wonder they're in a sinking ship. Only one major update. Disapointed

Because it is like if it was shipped with android 7.1.1 instead, but then update two months later to android 8.0 ...
It ends with 9.0 like XZ Premium.
XZ3 final update is android 10, along with xz2.
What I find disappointing is the fact XA2 has one update only.
There is no mediatek excuse this time.
But no surprise, they did it to m4. No android 7, while Moto X Play with same SD615 had 7.0 or 7.1.1 ...
We can expect 10/10+ to stay android 10 ....

It was shipped with Oreo. I bought mine on pre sale.
Just one major update is just ridiculous for a hi end phone.
Time to switch brands. Cant defend them anymore after 15 years of using Sony. Kinda shame but ok. Wake the hell up Sony

Android 8 out of box is same of being shipped with android 7, but getting android 8 soon.
How is XZ1 supposed to get 10 when XZP is not?
They kinda did spare you from wasting time updating phone yourself.
Phones with same cpu get same updates. |

It was shipped with andorid 8. It had nothing to do about android 7. Doesnt mather if previous ohone shipped with android 7.
Just one major update in a Hi end phone is ridicolous. Period. Stop defending the undefendable.

Why should XZ1 earn 10 when XZP is not getting?
The fact is was 8.0 out of box did not make any difference.
It was going to have it anyway.
Xperia 5 has android 9. Will end up with 11.
If it was android 10 out of box, last update would be 11 too.
Because 1 will stop at 11.
Z/Z1 = 5.1.1
Z2/z3 = 6.0.1
Z4/z5 = 7.1.1
X Perf / XZ = 8.0
XZP/XZ1 = 9.0
Xz2/xz3 = 10.0
1/5 = 11.0
OnePlus 7T Pro android 10 out of box. While 7 Pro is not. They are not going to give more update to 7T over 7. Both will earn same.
Do you think if Note 10 had android 10 out of box it would go to android 12 while S10 remains android 11?

XZ Premium is a device. XZ1/XZ1C is another device.
XZ1 was launched after XZP. XZP got 2 major updates, XZ1 just one. both are hi end devices. Hi end devices always received 2 major updates, independently of whetever date they were actually launch. I hope you understand it now. Jesus...
And dont forget xz1 were release with project treable wich surely simplifies future updates.
Regarding Samsung devices, Yes it would, because bouth would get AT LEAST two major updates. The S10 COULD get android 12 but it would not be expected at least.

How can you not understand this? XZ1/XZ1c/XZP are all Snapdragon 835 based devices. For Sony they are considered as being the same generation phones. It does not matter which came out earlier and which at a later date. There is no Android 10 update for Snapdragon 835 devices. Just accept it. Period. |

At least you have a XZ1 Compact. I'm on a Z5 Compact (with a cracked back panel which is "uneconomic to repair"). I don't see any compact phones on the horizon, anywhere. I don't like the 21:9 aspect ratio, more so at the current sizes. Even defection to iOS doesn't sound promising, the so-called iPhone SE2 is sounding like a relatively large phone. Does anyone make a nice 4.5" to 5" phone ? I wish there was a Sony. I'm not sure what other brands I'd consider. Maybe Google and One Plus, but they start at about 5.5" and 6.5" respectively. |

I suspect 8MP might be periscope.
Because of longer FL, hardware gets worse to fit in the phone.
You need to double the length of the module if you want to keep same sensor.
I hope rear panel has same design of now. Cameras in the middle like X1 and flat glass like X5.
