can anyone translate what he is saying?

I know it's about alpha, xperia, and JDI, but google translate doesn't make sense....

Translation:
There's a reason why the relationship between alpha and xperia division is bad.
For example, there was a case about JDI production capacity, where Xperia took away the capacity for good displays that were originally planned to provide alpha cameras, resulting in alpha cameras not able to include good screens.

FutureDeus, thank you so much for translation!

Remember, the UK have 20% VAT, and prices in UK are often higher than US counterparts even after ratio conversion.
Expect something like 750-880 USD without tax.
The price should be higher than XZ3, lower than XZ2P

From the same site, the price is £707.50 without VAT, which translates to $921.1 according to Google.

Oh i didn't even look at the site. It was late and assumed the quoted 849 was without vat.

Even at ~$900USD converted, it's too rich for me! MY XZP was around $750 from clove and it included headphones worth around $200. I'm curious what the US price will be but there definitely won't be any bundles in the US and so far clove doesn't seem to be hinting at any bundles either.

Gonna be a tough sell for people who have XZ2 lines or better.

Yeah true, the most expensive phone I bought was $765 (in contract, paid within 1 year) and I bought two with only 1 month different (the second was $685 also with 1y contract). But I understand now that all flagships are getting more & more expensive so I'm expecting next phone(s) will cost even more, I don't know how much they will get..

Yes, it's very expensive for me too, I'll wait and see if the price comes down and what offers come available over the weeks after launch.

Getting it for Christmas. XZP will become secondary phone then. Will have had it for over 2 years by then. Best phone I've owned by far.

question posted in official forum.

If I remember correctly, although all premium Xperias in past have 4K display, they display majority of contents in FHD (such as home screen etc) except for certain contents such as photo or video.

Does Xperia 1 do the same thing, or maybe instead of FHD+, it uses QHD+ like XZ3 or "all time 4K"
?

does anyone know answer to it?

It has to have lower res rendering for daily use, afaik all Galaxies also do it. But I haven't seen any official statement about 1.

AFAIK, they did this to save battery life, rendering in 4K consume more energy than in FullHD, so they limited it to only for photos and videos and only in some applications as the application must be aware of this to actually use it (IIRC).

IDK if X1 still use it or not, but if it did, then it will still use FHD for rendering and not QHD, the reason for this is because FHD unlike QHD has a perfect scale to 4K, I mean each FHD pixel will be rendered to full 4 pixels (in 2x2 pixel array) in a 4K screen, for QHD is a different story, you will need to scale to 1.5x1.5 pixel array which will not be good and will need hardware scaling to get rid of such weird scaling ratio.
