First impressions are very positive. The phone is just as wide as my XZs so it's been very easy to get used to it. Screen is stunning, phone is very responsive. So far photos look good. No freezes or restarts. Much louder speakers and finally a good speakerphone experience. My biggest gripe with Sony phones has always been subpar speakerphone and no group messaging in the SMS app but at least speaker issue is addressed. Still need to use textra since group messaging is still missing. Battery life is good so far still had 50% last night.

Speaker beside usb allows higher volume.
I think it must have something to do with space.
For example those phones with mono shstem are extremely loud.

First days with Xperia 1!
Battery is suprisingly good! (had 07:48 SOT with intensive use)
System is buttery smooth, reception signal is better than XZ2 on 4G+, call quality is superb and I can't stop looking at this gorgeous screen! Everyone who looked at them was amazed!
It's almost hypnotic!
Are you nervous?

I think, battery performance shouldn't be a surprise since Sony is well known about it strong battery optimization. I've never had any issue with Sony's battery.

and buttery smooth performance is also another strong point of Sony. As far as I know, Sony is good at their software optimization.

^i've always had similar experiences. In real world usage, battery life is always awesome. but sony always gets negative points for battery performance on review sites so the average user always thinks the worst.

shame how that is.

Mr Buks posted on weibo:

" The Sony Xperia 1 has an extremely excellent mobile phone display. Although its brightness is not as high as that of other top-of-the-line mobile OLED displays, its brightness uniformity is astonishing 99%, the DeltaE2000 has only 0.8, and the grayscale is only 1.2, APL50. The blood of the tested chicken reached 640 cd/m2. At the same time, the PPI of this screen exceeded 600. Even if your vision is optimal, it is difficult to see the pixels on this screen."

There is another post but I did not understand if he is saying 10.000 were sold in China and 100.000 units in Japan. But sales seem way bettermthan last year phones.

Yup...I don't understand why Sony always got negative reviews on the the battery performance... totally opposite the reality.

Few people are buying X1 to resell here.
They are charging equivalent to $1590.

I dont have all this .. 😰

2 months since they started shipping.
This means cam score will be low.
High scores always come out early.
Now I expect 94-96

Where is the DXO review? Did the bribe money get lost in the post or what?

Early review = high score
Late review = low score

That what has been happening since new protocol.

X1 is at stores since end of May.
I no longer expect above 100 points.
Maybe they did not like first results, then decided to give priority to other phones.
