I guess I wont be using a screen protector then. I can barely find any usable "curved" ones that wont peel off after a while.

lol.

they don't care about the US market. If they cared, they would try harder to get it picked up and promoted by carriers. Having it at bestbuy/amazon in the US is just to get those few extra bucks on the side.

I don't know why any american would buy in the US over ordering from the UK.. especially if you can get a bundle.

It's the easy choice. Cheaper overall unless it's that important to you to have a US warranty.

if i was definitely upgrading and wanted the X1, i'd get a bundle with the NC headphones. and if i couldn't get it shipped to the US.. i'm sure one of you UK fellows would help a fellow esato-er out

Ha ha, sure. I'm just glad there are some decent bundles to choose from although, no sign of the white version on any deals.

I pulled the trigger and did what I considered as a hard decision. I'm ditching the Galaxy S9+ for the Xperia 1 with the noise cancelling headphones from Sony. I'm absolutely stoked.

Had a play with this at the O2 store in Liverpool CC.

Let's just say it's pretty impressive. The CineAlta app is very good, very easy to use.

The screen too, is sublime. I'm won over. It is a world away from the XZ2. They had a huge section devoted to this phone, dedicated armchairs where you can sit back and experience the device, a whole wall with multiple wide-screen TVs promoting the device, the free XM3 headphones there to try out.

I was well impressed.

Ironically, I wasn't too impressed with it when I saw the Xperia 1 yesterday. It looks really outdated next to the Oneplus 7 Pro or even any flagship released this year.

I'm having a second thought now.

Aesthetics will always be subjective, "There's no accounting for taste" as the saying goes. It's a different design direction from every other flagship out there and may not be to everyone's tastes, but I think there's something to be said for standing out in a sea of similar looking Chinese stuff which either copies Samsung, or Samsung copies......and on a technical level there's nothing outdated about this handset

What got me the most is that fact that it is long and slim but not in a way that make it seem cumbersome. It still feels and looks svelte, even with that lovely, wide screen.

McKinley - sorry to hear that. but you gotta absolutely love it to spend that kind of money, so I totally understand. what was it about it that made you think it was outdated? the fact that it still had bezels, albeit minimal?
