Already got my unit for review and it's an absolute beauty of a device, thoroughly enjoying it. Been setting up most this evening.

Great to have a device that has so much jam packed into it. The build quality is amazing, UI is fast and fluid, Android 9 with EMUI9 looks fantastic and the 7nm Kirin980 is taking all the setting up, multitasking and fiddling well in its stride and so is the huge 4200mAh battery.

I would like to know why Huawei opted for Mali-G76 MP10 and not MP18?

Here are some speed tests of the Mate 20 Pro vs. Samsung Galaxy Note9, the Huawei obliterated the Note9 in ever aspect, it is incredibly fast and fluid

I am also absolutely blown away by the battery life on this beast, I am getting almost 9hours SOT with over 20hours off charge in Performance Mode

I was thinking of the Mali G-76 MP18 and not the previous model obviously.

Have to say, I am absolutely loving this phone

The battery life is insane and the camera features keep me fiddling with it all the time when I am out and about.

I was lucky to get a device that has a BOE panel so no issues there.

EMUI9 has been great so far, fast and smooth. The Mate 20 Pro feels like a blend of Galaxy S9+, iPhone X S Max and P20 Pro, it sort of takes the best of each of those devices and then adds its own flavor with the Super Wide Lense camera, Super Macro Mode, 40W Super Charging, Reverse Charging and nanoSD.

I am using my Mate 20 Pro in Performance Mode 100%of the time as the battery life still lasts more than a day in this mode, so may as well take full advantage of the Kirin980

Lastly the compact design make this device a pleasure to handle daily for long periods, and the Twilight colour sticks out so well, I see some people looking at my device trying to figure out what it is and others do ask about it.

I am thoroughly impressed overall.

With all that said of course it has its downsides, e.g. The jelly effect in 4K video recording (I don't see it in 1080P@60FPS though). Also stabilization when zooming simply ain't as good as what the Dual OIS did in my Galaxy Note8.

I wondered the same, but now I see even Samsung are not using the MP18 in their latest Exynos, but rather the MP12

Maybe the MP18 just wasn't worth the cost? Or required too much power?

Is this another issue related to the LG Displays? I have a a BOE Display on my Mate 20 Pro and it's brilliant

Loving this phone, it's been rock solid for me.
