Last fiscal year had 50% of Xperia sales in Japan.
Futuristic gear is easier to sell there.

108mp? Id say highly unlikely.

Even at 0.8 um those 48mp sensors are already 1/2"

Sony said after 0.8 it affects image quality. So 0.8 um 108mp sensor... How big would it be? Unless the phone is a new form factor or they manage to overcome the quality issues I don't see that happening.

But maybe pixel shift will be there?

These sensors must be at least 1/1.7" I believe.
Quadbayer type of course, so you can use 27MP.

New Isocell GM1 is 64MP 1/1.7".
10mm diagonal.
The 48MP has 8mm.

Less than 50 days for IFA and we dont even know how many phones are still coming.
I still dont understand if those "1s " and "1v" are flagships or midranges, if the 5K is real and the hexa cam.
Leaks of X1 started way earlier.

Just saw the comparison of xperia 1 with other top phones when it comes to performance

Bit disappointing for me

Sony should do better in this regard

Dont trust OnePlus, Xiaomi , Nubia etc when it comes to benchmarks.
We have seem a lot of phones that came with software to keep pushing cpu/gpu no matter the heat when benchmark is detected.

4K screen , glass body and waterproofing contribute to make harder to lose heat. There is no surprise.
For example if you measure device's temperature while playing video 720p, 1080p, 1440p and 2160p you will see that at 4K it will be hotter.

Xperia Z4 Tablet did not suffer with heat unlike Z3+.
Big body made out of plastic.

U are deviating from the subject
Did u even read thr article

Dont be such a fanboy

Most flagships nowadays are glass metal sandwich including oneplus

I was talking about the performance drop observed in the xperia which was something that i wasnt expecting
By comparing it to one plus there is a clear difference

Hope sony takes these into consideration in their future phones

I said higher res , waterproofing and glass contribute a lot.
They tested OP7, not OP7P.
Except X1, all are 1080p.
If you put SD855 inside 10+, results will be better than 1.

In Taiwan, 6.1% of phones sold were Xperia. Then in june Xperia counted 7,6%.
Sony was #5 in May, then #3 in June overtaking Oppo and Asus.

X1 to the rescue !!!!

Last post is about a weibo post that says j80xx was going to be 1 5G, but cancelled and replaced by J89. But then why would firmware be out if it was cancelled? Does not make sense.

because according to that filtration the cpu will be the same, we do not know how different it will be, it could refer only to the design and if that is true then the software is not completely discarded.

By Compact its probably max 6 inch at that aspect ratio or it becomes too small. A friend told me that for it to be considered to be Compact they "wouldn't make it wider than the XZ2 Compact" so someone do the maths and see how it turns out. I don't believe it would be called Compact, probably 1x/y/z or something like that. I think there will be a 5G Xperia 1 refresh September.

XZ2c has 13,7 x 6,5 cm.

Let's suppose they can keep the same width.
Even with taller screen, the bezels would be smaller than XZ2c.
Maybe they can keep same height too.
Would be amazing.

That makes 5.8" 21:9
Which the earlier rumor suggested. It has the same width but no way they can do it under 140mm. Display only is 13.5cm.
